Hi Briskoda community, Which brand/type of oil would you recommend for an oil change for my 2016 2.0L Diesel vRS? And am I right in saying I need about 4.6L? TIA

Update: Took it to a local VAG specialist in the end. They tried a number of things to no avail, including swapping out tue ECU to rule it in/out. After struggling to get a diagnostic reading from the car because it wouldn’t start, it eventually played ball and gave them a reading. That showed a raft of red herring errors, which they eventually whittled down to a faulty motherboard under the bonnet and a faulty relay. All sorted. £600 in diagnostic time and £100 in parts.. But I’m in love with our car once again.

Update: had a new battery fitted, but the issue is still happening. it now takes 10+ attempts to start the car in the morning, although once it’s started, it then continues to start first time for the rest of the day. Can anyone advise what this might be? Starter motor perhaps?

Thanks Kenny, We did a long run to Scotland a few weeks back, but short grocery trips since. I’ve a mate with a battery tester/charger, so I’ll give him a buzz.

Hiya, in the last couple of weeks, our car has started flashing up random warnings when we turn the ignition on. Sometimes warning lights, at other times they are warning text. They vary from, ‘Workshop; only leave the vehicle in position P’ (despite being in Park.) To occasionally a sequence of ‘Error - Stabilisation Control’, Gearbox Faulty: Workshop!’ It then doesn’t start until about the 3rd or 4th attempt. But then drives fine. my wife tells me that as she turned out of our road the other day, ‘it showed a gearbox error” then basically ground to a halt. Until she restarted it. as this is sporadic, I don’t know how easy to diagnose it will be. Also worried about the potential cost because nothing is as cheap as we hope it will be.. can anyone offer advice please? TIA.
