2008 Fabia 1.9d - Gear selector Lever Fitment
Thanks Alasdair1. Great idea using a bolt to replace the broken shaft. i have also repaired the broken lever by screwing through the back of the shaft and also using JB Weld Adhesive, which has worked well. However, going forward, i would prefer to have the correct replacement part, just in case this repair fails. If i still cant find the correct replacement part, i will fit the repaired lever, until i can source the correct replacement part. The dealers have ordered me another part, which will be with me by the end of the week, so im keeping my fingers crossed that this is now correct. Many Thanks for the information

Thanks for the info, Breezy Pete. Ive been on to the parts department at the main dealer again. They have ordered another new part, which should be the 6Q0711202J. Will be at the dealers next Thursday, so keeping fingers crossed that this is now the correct part, will wait and see. I have been looking online using the Vin number, but again cannot find anything for it, whats the website you are searching on, for future reference? Vin No: TMBBG25J593094731 Many Thanks Barry

2008 Fabia 1.9d - Gear selector Lever Fitment
2008 Skoda mk2 gearbox Gear Selector Lever replacement different to original. Has anyone else replaced the small plastic gear selector lever on top of the gearbox, where the selector cables from the internal gear lever attaches? The original lever became stiff, and when trying to free it off, the mounting shaft, to the gearbox casting snapped. The original part number is 6Q0.711.203.A Apparently this has been replaced by another part number: 6Q0.711.203.B I have also got another part number from Skoda, marked as 6R0.711.203 but this also is too short to reach the vertical actuator However, this revised part number is the wrong shape for the whiteplastic vertical actuator on thegearbox selector, to reach the curved metal groove as the one that was removed from the vehicle did? See picture attached. The 1st pic shows the replacement part, the 2nd shows the old part, where the white part is not visible, as it correctly reaches the actuator. Has anybody else had this problem when replacing this part, if you have, how did you get around it, or have I indeed been supplied with the wrong part from my local Skoda dealer?
