  1. Thanks for getting back to me. I'm in Queensland Australia so I suspect it is best for me to contact CT Cars and find out more about the chip itself then I'll look around for an Australian supplier. I must say that my son's Amarok seems to have lots more power which is transmitted through a conventional 6 speed automatic which seems counterintuitive as the DSG should in theory provide a more direct power delivery. They both share what is essentially the same motor; ie VW 2.0 litre turbo diesel. As an aside, almost bogged the Yeti in Western Queensland last week with mud so sticky that the wheel arches became packed, elimination suspension and steering movement. Gearbox alarmed on overheat and with 10PSI in tyres plus lots of patience, finally managed to retreat from a very 'sticky' situation. Kind regards
  2. JR, can you tell me who did the re-mapping of your diesel Yeti and approximately what the cost was? Has there been any significant downside to the re-mapping; ie, reduced fuel economy? Regards, Kevin
  3. Phil, Is it a silly approach to fill the gearbox under a bit of pressure from the bottom plug? Regards, Kevin
  4. What you are saying makes sense to me. Ill change the oil after the motor has warmed up to normal operating temperature. The temperature in Brisbane at the moment is ~20 degrees Celcius so I'm not expecting too many surprises. 50ml + or - should not be a deal-breaker; regardless, I'm going to have a crack at it. Just buying the oil and the filter on-line at the moment. Nulon seems to be offering a pretty attractive deal via Ebay: epid=28031249143&_trkparms=ispr%3D1&hash=item23b98f695f:g:q~YAAOSw3TFcwG8Xhttps://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Nulon-EZY-SQUEEZE-Full-Synthetic-Multi-Vehicle-DSG-DCT-Transmission-Fluid-NDSG-1/153437038943?
  5. Thank-you for such a comprehensive guide; very much appreciated. My only concern about doing the job is that I don’t own a OBD Diagnostic device. Is it unwise to do the job without a VCDS? Or, perhaps more importantly, what might go wrong if I don’t use VCDS? I would appreciate your opinion.
  6. Thanks again Ken, $160 AUD is pretty close to 90 GBP. I will look overseas but as you can imagine, postage becomes a factor. Do you think its possible to clean a used Gen 4 filter? Regardless, I will keep researching and keep briskoda abreast of any solutions I find 😉
  7. Thanks Ken, the price of the filter here is a crazy $160 AUD but I suspect it’s a cost I will have to bear in order to avoid premature wear/damage. The main problem for me is the lack of a VCDS but I suspect I might be able to do the job without one.
  8. Hello to the Haldex-interested. I quizzed my local service centre today as to exactly what they do when they undertake a service on a Gen 4; it was an interesting response; ie: 'we just drop the oil and then replenish it'. So I asked; 'what about the filter?' They said that they never replace the filter as its a waste of time. Is this correct?
  9. Thanks so much for the prompt response Trevor M, the cynic in me suspects that if I go to a service centre, they will charge me for a ‘Haldex Service’ but may just change the oil and not replace the filter. I suspect it’s impossible to know unless I stand there and watch (which I’m guessing they won’t allow). It’s a tricky one. If the VCDS is not critical to the procedure then I would like to do it myself. Again, many thanks 😉
  10. Excuse a naive question from a 2.0 Litre diesel Yeti-owning novice but is it possible to do a Gen 4 Haldex service on without VCDS? ie; can the filter be removed and replaced without running the Haldex pump via VCDS (I don’t have a diagnostic interface unit).
