I think At the moment , i will monitor things and see if it gets worse. Didn't want to do an engine re build as there aren't many people in Leeds or surrounding who like to touch these engines .

Hi About 3/4 years ago it went into Skoda for engine misfire. They did an update ?, plus fitted new plugs to it and charged me £300+ for the privilege. Since then pretty much had it serviced regular , other than the plugs which i have just changed they had seen better days, i have bought new coil packs now to be fitted( Genuine vw/audi/skoda) Thank you for your help and advice, i shall monitor things

Hi I am normally topping the oil about 1/4ltr , maybe every 500mls , sometimes more. If i visit my son down south, it never uses any ?. Will definitely have a compression test done , fingers crossed it will be o k . A bit confusing as it goes like poo off a log .

Hi Thanks for the information I have had it 7 years now, never had a water pump or belts changed. I run it on Shell V power all the time too. As regards to oil , i run it on Quantum 5w40.

Hi, Thank you for your reply. It does have the usual oil consumption fault being a cave engine , but never worried me as it hardly goes anywhere. Just the plume of smoke ?, someone else has said they are common for the PCV to fault ?. Didn't really want to go down the route of a new turbo , but well worth more investigation , i am in the motor trade and thought if it was the turbo, it would smoke constantly ??. Always open to listen to other peoples ideas . :)

I have a 2011 Skoda Fabia vrs I have noticed of late , when driving when you come off the throttle or going downhill . Occasionally i get a plume of smoke from the exhaust ??. It doesn't smoke on start up or when driving normally ? The car gets oil changed every 3000miles as i only use it mainly for work and back. Currently it has 78,000 miles on the clock. I have been told to change the water pump and both belts ?? Also, does the supercharger need regular service ? I am of mature years and it doesn't get hammered . Any help on this would be appreciated as i could do without an engine failure if serious.
