My opinions are based purely on 40 year old engine technology. High CO and HC always pointed to excess fuel/unburnt fuel. I know the system should regulate the amount of fuel added and correct time to ignite the mixture, but a petrol engine is a just a petrol engine. I would have thought the easiest way to check for carbon build up is to pull a pipe off the inlet manifold and have a look with an endoscope camera. That will tell you if if it needs blasting or not. You have already invested in the car, you seem to like it, surely it has to be worth blasting if that is required. Good luck.

This is spooky. I too am searching in vain for MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0480T to replace MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0472T. I am a complete novice in matters such as this, but I have managed to format an SD card in readiness but MIBsolutions1 is still down. Could I please trouble someone for a copy?

It's all done and hoovered up. The template shared by a previous poster worked perfectly, I adjust the scale prior to printing to 107% and it matched the A4 outline exactly. I pushed a black biro through the centre mark and transferred it to the head lining. I used a small cross head screwdriver to puncture the lining and I could the outline of the blank hole behind it. A quick buzz through with a 19mm hole saw and everything was aligned. Thank you previous posters who took the time and effort to share your expiernces.

A thread resurrection from me. I too bought a the genuine Skoda dog guard off ebay, it too came with the finger bolt things and nothing else. I found this thread, ordered the fitting kit direct and I've just fitted the lower mountings. To stop the inserts spinning I used an impact gun and a few nuts as spacers. This works. I'm dreading the top mounts, I'll print off the template and report back. P.S. a bit of advice to anyone who sees a used genuine Skoda dog guard on eBay, just don't buy it unless you have a car with the mountings already installed.

Following on from my introduction I am pleased to join the ranks once again of Skoda ownership. My new car to me is a 2019 (69) VRS Tsi manual estate in graphite grey. The journey back from Peterborough was very comfortable and without drama. Let the faffing commence.

In a moment of weakness and an overwhelming bout of "want" I bought it. The car is a 2019 69 plate VRS Tsi 245 manual Estate. It has done 71k with one owner. I am very happy with my choice, the refinement, the ease of use and the build quality blinds the 21 year old Volvo unsurprisingly. Unfortunately the engine is lacking the Volvo's 5 cylinder anger, brawn and character. The Skoda is quick, the 2.4 Volvo T5 is fast. The thing is, the Volvo's chassis has never been good enough to cope with the speed and the way the engine produces it's power. The Octavia VRS feels like cheating, but in a good way. I went for my last drive in the Volvo today, I've been incredibly fortunate insofar as it's never let me down and it's sold for £1,000 more than I paid for it 12 years ago. The new owner has assured me he will love it like a 3rd child. I collect the Skoda on Wednesday.

Greetings and thank you for having me. I am a lapsed Skoda owner, I bought a 2006 VRS tdi in 2007. I changed jobs in 2008 and the Tdi really didn't enjoy the shorter commute, cou[led with the fact the car was on a pcp I decided to sell it and buy a petrol Volvo V70 T5 manual. This T5 was replaced with a later 2.4T5 manual (a truly fabulous car) which I have kept for 12 years. High V.E.D was one of the reasons I decided to change and after much searching I decided on a MK3 Octavia VRS tsi manual estate. I'm going to look at one tomorrow in Peterborough. I apologise for the long winded intro.☺️
