  1. Yea battery is fine over 12v and not droppping when load applied
  2. Does anyone know what the emergency start procedure is? No power or lights to dash and not starting when turning key. Trying to scan codes but getting messages that ignition not switched on. I was looking on Ross tech site and it seems there’s a procedure where you operate some things at same time or in a sequence like hazards, brakes or wipers and it fires the ignition up so you can read codes. But can’t find what procedure is, anyone know?
  3. Has anyone got an ignition wiring diagram so I can try to follow my problem its on another post of mine. No ignition or dash lights when I turn key. Thanks
  4. Just replaced all the relays this morning, still no ignition. I have checked ignition switch to prove its ok and all is good with switch. The car locks and opens from fob, the hazards work and electric seats work. But anything that requires ignition is dead. When fault first appeared and I unlocked car with fob the headlights would come on and radio would light up. It's not even doing that now, it's like its got progressively worse. Battery voltage still ok at 12.2v. Tried Delphi software but wont read anything as saying ignition needs turning on. Any ideas anyone?
  5. Any ideas anyone, I'm suspecting faulty ignition switch now. Turn key and nothing, no lights or anything. All fuses are good.
  6. Got a 2010 tdi 4x4 estate. Replaced heated seat relay and a couple of interior led bulbs. Came to start car and nothing. Car opens and locks with fob but no ignition lights when switched on and not starting. Battery good and all fuses good under bonnet and interior fuses good. tried to swap bulb in glove box but didn’t have correct led bulb. Wouldn’t start after this. I tugged bulb holder out. Are the relays behind glove box on rhd car. Maybe I could have dislodged a relay. Or any other ideas would be appreciated
  7. Hi Going to change clutch on my 2006 Octavia 2.0 tdi while in lockdown. Opting for solid flywheel conversion. I’ll be doing this on axle stands on drive not easy I know, does the subframe need to come off or will the box come off with it still in place. Anything else I need to look for. Any workshop manual downloads about. Thanks in advance
  8. Oh wow 😮 thanks for the heads up on this I was seriously thinking about going this route, it’s either android or I’ve chance of an RNS315 with gps and dab for £150
  9. Posted earlier in the Octavia Mk2 forum about upgrading my radio. I’ve been looking into it more but want to know if someone can help with radio sizes. The opening in my fascia is 255mm at top and 235mm at bottom. Most of the radios I have seen have an opening of 220mm at top and 210mm at bottom. Which is the standard or do I need to get a different fascia or be looking for a certain radio or clone that fill drop straight in? Thanks
  10. Hi wanting to upgrade the stereo in my Octavia Mk2 estate. I’m wanting satnav and dab radio. Do I go for original Skoda or vw headunit or are aftermarket ones better. If I go for one of aftermarket ones should I consider the Android and Wince models or stick with trusted names Thanks
