Leaking oil separator and delaminating suspension mount
Awaiting warranty claim decision but the oil separator doesnt appear to be at all expensive. Ill be interested to know what they regard as the mount. Also when I collected the car they added an mot advisory that the offside front suspension bush is slightly worn???? Didnt reset tge TPMS when new tyres were fitted and whilstvi accept the handbrake will have been disturbed when they did a rear brake service id agreed to but their adjustment has left it absolutely useless(id recently adjusted it and advised them id done so). So tomorrows jobs are to check actual tyre pressures and readjust the handbrake, takes longer to remove the centre armrest than it does to adjust it.

Rear suspension creak - Citigo
2019 75bhp sel. Rear suspension creaks - had main dealer look at it at mot and service last month (i’d just had major eye surgery) and said it was just a dry bush on the lower mounting point of the shocker and appears to have liberally sprayed it with silicone lubricant. Creak has now returned.just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if so the solution- with its basic set up ie beam axle shocker i’m up to trying a replacement set of shockers…

2019 Fuel flap replacement
SWMBO has snapped off the fuel flap. As a new 1 is £85-£115!!!! Think I may try to repair. Reviewed web, YouTube etc but just can’t see how to remove the flap/filter neck housing. There is, on her 2019 SEL at least, no T20 screw, or any other fixings, the protrusion that may have hidden a screw is simply a hole behind it. Any real world ideas please?

The dreaded brake problem...again!
Once I saw how deep the lipping was I didn’t bother getting my micrometer out to measure, I had the parts, paid for and available so just fitted them, wife has a commute of 70 miles a day now so keep on top of everything especially safety related

The dreaded brake problem...again!
2019 75 bhp SEL. 34k from new as 1 owner. Haseldeyns Doncaster did a brake clean adjust in 2021 during a service and they were super sharp, and have remained so ever since. Des winks Scarborough mentioned front discs and pads should be changed soon (June 2023) for £335. I bought Brembo discs and pads from euro car parts for <£70 and fitted them yesterday. Being only 4 years old everything came apart easily and good old fashioned mechanicals made it a doddle. Whilst the original discs had severe lipping the pads were only 35-40% worn. V,pleased I've saved £265.

2016 Citigo cam belt replacement
Eldest had read about extending cam belt replacement so I emailed SUK and received their response today I took some time to look into your enquiry and I can confirm the following information below with you regarding your concerns for your Cam belt. Cambelts are considered as a ‘wear-and tear’ component and not covered by warranty outside of the three year/60,000 mile warranty. For this reason there is no “Lifetime Guarantee.” However, the ever improving reliability and extended change intervals of Cambelts means that Škoda is removing the recommendation to replace the Cambelt every five years. This will be replaced by time/distance intervals (where applicable). As of 1 July, the cambelt guidance has been updated to remove the five-year interval on all cars across the Volkswagen Group. The cambelt replacement will now be based on mileage as per maintenance schedules. We would always recommend that our customer’s visit any one of our Škoda Approved Retailers who have trained technicians that are regularly updated on any changes that apply to vehicles manufactured within the Volkswagen Group. I hope that the above information proves useful. Should you require any assistance further, please do not hesitate to reach out to us on the details below.

Cam belt swap timescales
2019 5 door SEL Greentech; just had annual service at 4 years and 30,000 miles. Dealer wanted £120 o swap 3 spark plugs which I declined and did it myself for £21. They gleefully told me next year is a cambelt change but eldest son says Skoda have revised their requirements to an “inspect and replace if necessary” ,, whilst I’m fully au fait with the need, potential consequence of a failure can anyone confirm and point me to the link, of this believed change please

Service cost at years old
So SWMBO 2019 SEL 5 door went into our nearest main dealer as we recently moved. Just on 4 Years from new, owned from new 29k. service under a service plan plus mot . Spark plugs need changing at 4 years/40k @ £120 ((for 3 plugs remember)). Health check video confirmed passed mot, oiltight underneath but front disks and pads 70% worn so £355 please. Also the plugs at £120, the washer bottle is alkegedly leaking from a previous repair (what repair, when who???) That’s £52 please and offside rear tyre has some cracks so £78 please £600 all in plus mot. Priced up parts at @<£200 and can’t justify them doing the work.

Reversing camera ~ canbus wiring
So I’ve fitted a camera to SWMBO’s car and I’ve hit a snag- wired to ignition activated fuse under the steering wheel fuse box and to the reversing light. Works fine with the ignition on but within a few seconds of starting the car the view distorts and then disappears. I’m assuming there’s interference caused by the canbus wiring? Any ideas or suggestions readily accepted

How to plug rear lights back in
Ok so I didn’t think I was thick but clearly I am. Just put led bulbs in the rear lights but cannot fathom out how to get the red clip to snap into the locked position. It was difficult getting it off so I unclipped the bulb holder assembly from the lense I can see how it’s suposed t work but can’t figure out how it clips back on to the loom to lock it in place. Suggestions to an obvious numpty please. (2019 sel green tech 75)
