Head unit - any difference between UK and AU models
exantas replied to Dinna89's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
@Dinna89 have you managed to set up the car to show navigation info at the instrument cluster? -
I try to add a new fuse on the empty slot 5, in order to power CC. My car didn't come with CC and I am retrofitting the wiring
-
Does anybody know how to unlock the locking mechanism for the small fuses in the fuse-box under the steering wheel?

An update on this old thread to set things right: When it comes to MFSW with the old style of the steering wheel, the correct airbag cable is part number 3T0 971 584 It has to be like that only. Revision 3T0 971 584 A won't fit. The pins that are supposed to connect with the horn pins are the wrong size. When it comes to MFSW with the new style of the steering wheel, 5JA 971 584 works also. That part number won't work with old style of steering.

Fabia mk3 MFW buttons wont work on mk2 Fabia. If you want to install newer style steering wheel better read this thread https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/391519-mfsw-retrofit-what-went-wrong/

2014 Fabia SE 1.2 Tsi - anything to be aware of?
exantas replied to dancingbear84's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
For me was rubber mats and then under seat storage boxs. They are fearly priced even new from Skoda dealer and an easy DIY ( provided that you have the correct socket to unscrew the seats). -
2014 Fabia SE 1.2 Tsi - anything to be aware of?
exantas replied to dancingbear84's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
The two versions of the engine have the exact same mechanical parts. It would be fairly easy and safe for a person with the right knowledge and equipment to tune it to 105 hp factory tune. -
Thank you for your reply. My car came with Blues radio, so I will have to test the upgrade process on my own.
-
What type of head unit did your car have before you upgrade to the Kenwood one?
-
Does your cars are equipped with Maxi Dot instrument cluster? Using the CAW-KIMUN1 interface, does Navigation,Phone and Music menu show up in the cluster? If yes, did you need to do any changes with VCDS for example?

Does anybody have a MKII FL Fabia with factory fitted TPMS ? I am looking for an auto scan from PQ25 Skoda Fabia with TPMS.

MFSW retrofit - what went wrong?
exantas replied to 2014atmc's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
Thank you for the reply. I managed to go over the thread using google translate. On boehmec case he retrofired the old style of steering wheel - airbag cable. At this point there is only one way for me to find out - by testing it myself. Fun fact: when I open Etka and set my vin number, the program is giving me 5E0 971 584A as the part number for the MFSW airbag cable.- 24 replies

I agree . Two months back I had the same issue like you on my 10' 1.2 TSI. Skoda garage uninstalled the alternator, send it out to a local electrician to repair it and few hours later it was back for the Skoda garage to reinstall it. The garage that you have selected I would imagine can do the same. This way you can save money / don't through away repairable parts.

MFSW retrofit - what went wrong?

Hey, I want to add similar to yours MFSW, on my 11' model Fabia 5J. I am trying to find out if my existing slip ring will work or I would have to change to a later version one. So I thought that slip ring number might show on your auto scan. Do you have by any chance the part number from the slip ring your car has? Thank you for your time, exantas- 24 replies
