  1. Hi all, Purchased a 22 reg superb hatchback last year. Had a nightmare with a leaky windscreen which was rectified. However I've noticed that my rear windscreen is extremely prone to steaming up, interior of the car is bone dry, no water in the spare wheel well or any wet carpet and or headlining. However I did notice the plastic trim and rubber in the boot gutter area was incorrectly fitted and so there was a gap which water would of been free to flow down (see picture). I've since refitted this and the rubber seal sits nice and flush. But I was curious where that water would have gone?? As I say the boot interior is bone dry, but I'm thinking there's water somewhere that's causing it to steam up still even after sorting out the seal (or there's another issue). Would I be needing to remove the side panels inside the boot to gain access and therefore dry out any water that may be in there, and if so how does that panel come out? Any help appreciated.
  2. I’m curious. Is this an optional extra? I have recently purchased a (rather troublesome) 22 Superb Sportline. All the app shows me is if the car or windows are locked/unlocked and its fuel range etc. Is the climate feature only available on the IV model?
  3. Spoke to the dealer this morning and they want the car for a couple of days to investigate. Unfortunately, the earliest they can get it in and offer me a courtesy vehicle is 2 weeks time. As this is our only car and needed daily a courtesy car is essential. Thanks for the part number, found online for around 30 euro so will ask the dealer about supplying one.
  4. Morning all, I purchased a used approved 22 plate Superb Sportline 2 weeks ago but it's not exactly been smooth sailing since. After a few teething issues, admittedly mainly user error, I was starting to really fall in love with the car. Unfortunately, it hasn't lasted. Since having it, I'd noticed that it was prone to steaming up. The dealer applied some form of interior protection product as part of the deal so I was quick to tell myself between that and a mixture of being stood around on the forecourt and short trips with little to no A/C drying and that after a few days of nicely drying out with use it would sort itself out. However, it seemed to be getting worse. The recent dip in temperatures found heavy condensation build up and upon closer inspection while cleaning I found the drivers side carpet quite wet. I previously owned a 17 Octavia Vrs and had a nightmare with a leaking windscreen so I'm quite paranoid about such things now. Anyway, it's wettest around the foot rest/tunnel but when I peeled up the small perforated flap area under the seat I noticed it's wet under there too. So I'm guessing either cursed and I have ANOTHER skoda with a leaky windscreen, or the A/C drain or possible sunroof drains. My question is, my previous Octavia developed this fault outside of warranty so I stumped up for a windscreen replacement (via insurance). But, would this issue be covered, either by the remaining manufacturers warranty or the 12 month used approved warranty? Also, I appear to have lost one of the small black trims from near the fog lights (see pictures) ironically the remaining one I noticed was loose while cleaning and was going to look at fixing better. Does anyone know a part number or at least what it would be called and where would be best to source one? Thanks in advance.
  5. Quick update... OBD Eleven didn't work, the menu for Lane assist appeared on both the assist menu using the steering wheel and the infotainment but just get told it's unavailable when trying to activate. Also, just got constant error messages when trying to set up Traffic Sign Recognition, OBD eleven wouldn't let me make the changes. Also, having a nightmare trying to set up a second user profile for my wife. Registered her for a skoda connect account but when following the steps in car to add new user and entering her email and password, nothing happens and it remains me (primary user) and the guest option. Any ideas?
  6. I figured out the consumption issue. Not exactly intuitive and there may be an easier way... I changed to a different layout on the dash where I can alter the middle section and was able to cycle through From Start, Long Term and Since Refuel, this then changed it on the left hand display on my preferred layout when I changed back. I must admit, the virtual cockpit is nice but (possibly user error, will have a proper play at weekend) it's a fairly clumsy system.
  7. Thanks for the replies. I'll have a bash at the coding at the weekend. Got the mirror dip sorted, found the instructions of how to store the required dip setting/return position online and works perfectly now. With regards to the camera, it is the one in the boot handle and was fitted at new by Skoda. Doesn't appear to have a film but gave it a clean and much improved, still slightly not as crisp resolution as my Mercedes CLA but definitely better now and perfectly usable..just me being fussy I suppose. Also, after being annoyed at how it gets filled in I've discovered it has a washer jet to clean it which works well. I now have another annoyance, I'm using what I believe is the "sport" screen on the Virtual Cockpit. I can customise what is displayed on the left and the right no problem using the infotainment screen. But, yesterday morning the consumption display showed from start. Now though it shows Long Term and I can seem to figure out how to change it, or how I changed it to begin with. All I seem to be able to do is alter what is displayed there such as media, route guidance etc but can't seem to change between From Refuel, From Start or Long Term. Any ideas? Thanks
  8. Morning all, As title says, I've recently become the new owner of a '22 Superb Sportline+ 2.0TSI hatch and have a few queries about it. I previously owned a '17 Octavia VRS TDI 4x4 but things are obviously different in this car. 1 - User profiles. In the octavia I was able to create driver profiles to personalise certain settings. This was nice and simple and my wife and I using 1 key were able to select who was driving when starting the car each time. The superb on the other hand wants me to enter email etc. I've paired to the app and created my profile as the priority driver or whatever but how do I now add my wife so things like Virtual Cockpit, ambient lighting, seat memory, radio etc are stored for each of us. I can only seem to find the same option of registering via email?? As stated before, we have 3 keys with the car but we tend to just use the same key for ease of use. 2 - Traffic Sign Recognition. I enabled this using OBDeleven on the octavia. Is there a guide for how to do that for the superb? I read somewhere the facelift version was different so want to make sure I've got the right settings. I'm surprised it doesn't come as standard to be honest. 3 - Lane assist. Again, something that was on the octavia and something I used to love on the motorway, is it possible to add? I'm surprised it doesn't have it already with having ACC. 4 - Mirror dip on reverse. How is this supposed to work? It's ticked in the infotainment menu but the mirror definitely doesn't dip when reversing. FInally an observation...the reverse camera is awful quality. The picture is extremely low res, extremely disappointing. Other than that, love the car. Much more refined inside with regards to road and wind noise than the octavia and the space offered is incredible. Thanks in advance for any help with the above.
  9. No real symptoms as such, I had it on the ramp servicing/checking it over pre MOT and noticed the rubber connecting the outer metal ring is starting to fail so replacing now before it completely goes. Having said that, I do get a vibration over 60mph felt through the car and wheels all balanced etc so could be related. I'll have a deep dive into YouTube, found a couple but they were showing you how to replace on a propshaft already removed and on a bench. That bit I can figure out 😂. I figured prop off is probably the way, think that looks like exhaust/heat shields all coming off to make room to get to front fixings.
  10. As title suggests, I need to replace the rubber coupling that connects the rear prop to the haldex on my 2017 VRS TDI 4x4. I've sourced a replacement but can't seem to find any information on easiest way to replace. There appears to be centre bush going though the coupling which means you can't simply drop it out, meaning either the prop needs to go forward or the haldex move back. Could anyone shed some light on the easiest way to replace this? I've read about lots of people taking it into the garage and it only being a couple of hours work? Cheers
  11. Apparently there is a drain either side of the tunnel so could possibly be as I only found 1 to check on the drivers side. I checked this last night and all vents blow warm air so don't think it's this.
  12. Thanks for all the replies. Car is booked in for MOT next week and the garage are going to look at the obvious culprits while in there.
  13. I recently posted about a wet pollen filter/footwell and thank everyone who replied for taking the time: After drying the passenger footwell completely I am still to find the culprit. I have checked both scuttle drains and made sure behind the wheel arch liners is clear - not the issue. (Unless there is a centre drain I'm unaware of?) Screenwash level has not dropped - not the issue. Coolant level not dropped - not the issue. The pollen filter has since remained dry, but the passenger footwell and the drivers footwell now get wet. It all takes place under the carpet, there is no visible sign of wet on top and it appears to be coming from behind the foam on the bulkhead and only when severe enough does it make it to the underfelt. After thoroughly drying it out using an air blower piped under the foam/felt for a couple of days I checked under there following a night of heavy rain and was amazed to find it dry. However after driving the car it again got wet. When driving the car a couple of days ago I was convinced I heard the sound of water rushing when I first moved off then not again, upon arriving home and checking I found the drivers side soaked and the passenger side dry. I'm at a loss as to why this has suddenly started and open to any suggestions as to what the reason could be? Again thanks in advance.
  14. Thanks everyone, First things first I'll get it on the ramp at lunchtime and remove the under tray and see if I can a) see any reason the scuttle water might not be fully draining away and b)see if I can find the exit point for the A/C drain pipe, although if it's on the drivers side that wouldn't really explain the issue being worse on passenger side. Failing that I'll try removing some interior trim to see if I can both get the carpet lifted to help dry underneath and see if I can locate the rear wash pipework.
  15. Update. I carried out a simple experiment yesterday and when I got home from work I removed the glovebox and pollen filter (which was dry still, despite driving home through rain and air con running to try and dry car interior) and placed paper towel above, inside and all around the pollen filter housing. After a ridiculous amount of rain last night all paper towels were bone dry. This has made me doubt the notion that the windscreen is leaking around there as if it was going to it would of almost certainly done so after the sustained period of heavy rain we had last night. I found a small flap/inspection panel in the carpet not far from the passenger seat and lifted this up to find the underfoot/sound deadening underneath the carpet is quite wet. The drivers side is damp but no where near as wet as the passengers side. I'm going to have to try and dry this out as best as possible before I can tell if the leak is persisting or was a one off event. I'm wondering if anyone has any further information on the following: 1) I've read somewhere about various versions of Skodas and VW group having the rear wash pipework running along the passenger side, is this true? If so, while my car was in for service/fuel filter last week they "unblocked" the rear wash as it was blocked (again) to the point of not working (something I've just got so used to I don't even unblock and use it anymore).Anyway, could it be possible in the process they may have caused a joint in the pipework to open allowing the water under the carpet?Maybe if they power flushed it or forced air down it. It's a long shot I know but thinking of any possibility. 2) Does anyone know where the AC condensation drain pipe is located? Possibility if this has become blocked or damaged that its causing a leak into the cockpit. 3) Any other suggestions as to what has or is causing this as I really don't want to have to take it to Skoda for them to charge me a fortune but I need to find a solution. Thanks in advance.
  16. So a quick inspection on my lunch break and it turns out there is no complicated, potentially blockable drains as such. Just open holes in the scuttle and the water just empties out into the entirety of the wheel arch. So I'm still none the wiser as to how water has managed to get into my pollen filter. The scuttle area looks dry and clean, the filter housing itself is dry and clean and the carpet in the passenger footwell is dry, just the area immediately around the filter housing is damp to the touch but not soaking wet. I've replaced the pollen filter and will just have to keep checking to see if this is some random event with no clear explanation (to me) or if there's a bigger issue here such as windscreen leaking and the water dripping into the filter housing or some other unknown leak in that area. Again, if anyone has any ideas or suggestions I'm all ears. Cheers
  17. Coolant level hasn't changed so fairly confident it's a rainwater issue. I've tried finding some kind of guide or at least location of drains online but not managed to find anything for the mk3, other than sunroof drains which I won't have. Unless anyone has any ideas where the drains are I'll just have to try removing the plastic scuttle cover and scramble around underneath and hope I can see something to unblock.
  18. Morning all, Last couple of days I've noticed the windscreen has condensation on passengers side in the morning. New problem as never done it before even in the depth of winter. I checked the carpets and all dry but right up behind the glove box is damp, also removed pollen filter and the left side of it is sodden. Evidently water is getting in there somehow, any suggestions? Looking through the plastic trim on the scuttle it doesn't appear to be full of either water or leaves blocking what I assume are the drain holes (great big openings either side) etc. but not sure where those drains exit, is it possible they're blocked lower down causing it to back up and enter the filter housing? Usually drains like that exit around the wheel arch area I think. Any help would be greatly appreciated so I can rectify this early on before it gets worse in there. Cheers Edit: Car is a 2017 VRS TDi hatchback no sunroof.
  19. I’ve always put Rainsports on my previous 3 cars prior to the Octavia. I always found them to be a very good affordable tyre that performed well in both wet and dry,but they were previous versions of Rainsports not the 5’s.
  20. Diesel VRS 4x4 here and put PS4S’s on mine last year and have been extremely pleased. Great grip wet and dry and surprisingly good in the snow too 😂. done around 15,000 miles and wearing evenly.
  21. Thanks all for the replies. I turned fusion on (it was set to detection) and all works perfectly. I now get the pre-loaded speeds from sat nav until I pass a sign that it then reads. Temporary speeds on the motorway stayed on display until I passed the national speed limit sign on exiting the roadworks.
  22. Ok thanks, that makes sense. Any ideas about the error message?
  23. I have an Amundsen infotainment unit and lane assist camera? When I get home from work at the weekend I’ll try going through each step again and make sure I didn’t miss anything, I’m pretty sure I didn’t but you never know.
  24. After doing my commute this morning I found the system does detect speed signs but has dropped the pre loaded sat nav speeds. Also, it only displays after passing a sign. So when you leave a 40 and hit the national speed limit sign I get nothing displayed? I also get an error saying “Dynamic road sign display currently restricted” after driving a short distance but clears once ignition is cycled.
  25. Hi all, I used OBDeleven to activate Traffic Sign Recognition today on my 2017 FL Octavia VRS. Everything went fine and it's both now on my dashboard and all options are in the infotainment menu. However, it just displays the speed limits given by the built in sat nav, whereas I was under the impression it should use my lane assist camera to read the speed limits. Is it possible my instructions missed something off? I followed a step by step video found on YouTube (albeit for a VW but I'm led to believe it's the same). https://youtu.be/GnBqikSWlUw Any help would be greatly appreciated.
