Finally got to test the all season tyres!
I completely agree, though I would argue that driving to conditions and proper use of engine braking greatly reduces the need to apply the brakes in the first place, as said before I had zero issues when stopping for junctions or hazards with my PS4S. What I was getting at was that I wouldn’t rush out to replace my current tyres now but when the time comes I’ll seriously consider all seasons.

Finally got to test the all season tyres!
I currently have PS4S's on my VRS 4x4 and was stressing about putting all seasons on for my commute from the NW to Wales twice a week. However, Monday I had to contend with some extremely snowy uncleared B roads around the midlands and the car never slipped or skidded once on corners or hills. Don't get me wrong I still think All Seasons will be the sensible choice next time but less of a concern now I've seen how capable the 4x4 system is even with an extremely summer biased tyre.

Fuel issue diesel VRS
I assume you’re talking average mpg...I have a diesel vrs with dsg and 4x4 and commute on motorways. On a good smooth run I can push about 55mpg but once off the motorway onto a roads with roundabouts, junctions and general accelerating regularly that’ll drop to just over 50. Also, if just using the car for short journeys I’ll struggle to average more than around 45.

How to enable Traffic Sign recognition
Sorry for being dumb, but I've looked through this thread (and others) and can't seem to find a plain and simple set of step by step instructions on how to install TSR on my 2017 FL VRS with OBDEleven. I have lane assist if that makes a difference. I've seen multiple posts that claim to be for the pre-FL that may or may not work and things for VCDS in both german and english but I just want a nice simple step by step OBDEleven guide for idiots like me . If anyone could do this or point me to where I'd find such instructions I would be extremely grateful. Thanks P.S if anyone feels generous enough to write up some instructions for dummies, I'd also like to activate HBA .

Thanks for all the replies, I’ll have a dabble tomorrow and hopefully not brick my motor 🤣.

OBDEleven newbie
I know, I know this has probably been done to death. But, I'm looking for help with OBDEleven. I've recently bought one with the pro licence to use with my iphone on my 2017 FL VRS TDI but from what I gather on here I should avoid the pre made "apps" to make modifications. I see people talk about long coding things but not sure where I find out how to do this. The main things I would like to do immediately is High Beam Assist and Traffic Sign Recognition and then after that once I've figure out what I'm doing I'll look to do more. Could any one help me out or point me in the direction of where I could find some step by step instructions on how to do it? Thanks in advance.

USB cable needed
Before I start, I know this is going to seem a pointless issue to most people but any help is much appreciated. I have a mk3 fl vRS (don’t know if it makes a difference). Anyway I use CarPlay and plug my iPhone XS in and store it in the phone cubby but can’t find a suitable short usb-lightning cable that allows the phone to sit low enough to close the lid easily. I currently have a short right angled cable (see pic) but the head that plugs into the phone is quite long meaning I have to faff about trying to find a perfect angle to get the lid closed. Has anyone got a better cable/solution? I can find lots of 90° cables that look slimmer, but they’re all really long so I’d end up with loads of spare cable.

Which driving mode do you use?
Just my thoughts... I have a FL VRS tdi DSG 4x4 and use individual. Drive is in sport (but pull back on lever to put gearbox in D not S) gives me the throttle response of sport but not the ridiculous over revving of gears. Everything else is set to normal/eco for air con. I’ve found it more economical than eco as when pulling off, eco had so much lag that you ended up pressing the throttle harder, causing the kickdown to engage and high revs follow. Now just light throttle pressure and I’m off. I do tend to use Eco on long motorway trips as it’s more gentle at resuming cruise control should you need to whereas sport mode gets you back up to speed rapidly but at the expense of economy.

Boot liner/tray - which one...??
I have the full liner with pull out bumper protector from hatchbag.co.uk in my vrs hatch. It wasn’t cheap but I’ve had everything from a muddy dog to rubble in there and it works perfectly, protects the whole boot and still allows me to use the side divider and tie downs.

Fuel Filler Door replacement
Morning, A friend of mine has managed to break the fuel filler door off on her Citigo. I've found a genuine replacement on ebay for not a lot of ££ but was just wondering if anyone has any experience replacing one? I'm hoping it's fairly straighforward but thought I better check before volounteering my services 😂 Any instructions/tips would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
