Fabia mk1 passenger bulb failure
Shubz786 replied to Shubz786's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Wiring is fine on ballast i think mate however have noticed the wire seems frayed/damaged where the hid wires ( white and blue) connect to headlight wiring. I have not swapped the bulb onto driver side yet as I managed to thread one of the screws for the backing cover. Going to remove it with pliers or drill out and try the new bulb on that side. Also not sure if relevant or not have a fault code for 00991 interior lights short to plus, however all my interior lights seem to be working fine. -

Hi fellow briskoda members I am having an issue with some aftermarket headlights i have. They are retrofit lab projectors fitted inside the halogen housing, they have been fitted over a year and been working fine till recently passenger bulb failed. I put in new bulbs but the bulb flickers asif it's trying to power on, ballasts have been swapped around and have been ruled out. Just wondering if anyone could point me in direction as to what else to check next, have checked fuse number 54 and swapped for another one but still no luck.

Urgent help needed please: tdi injectors

Personally I would get all the injectors tested , pretty sure you can check for bad injectors on vcds. -

Also has your car had the emissions recall done as it is known to reduce injector and egr life and cause other problems. -

Not 100% sure but when injectors are removed the gaskets have to be changed so if he had all injectors off and never replaced the gaskets that may be the reason other injectors failed too. By the way apparently recon injectors are no good apparently as they cannot be reconditioned, think its around 250 per injector brand new. -
Hi mate yeah seems common issue on these funnily enough I knew it was going to happen eventually, just going to test for leaks using some dye and uv light before I change water pump to make sure it's not leaking elsewhere. I've also had the secondary water pump changed not long ago as it failed didn't seem to affect running of the car just had engine management on , was a very easy job to do as you can access it from underneath the vehicle.

Let me know what the problem was.

Bit pricey for just parts alone would have expected to pay around 200, might just do an order of euro car parts and choose best brand they stock.

Just checked coolant whilst on break it did drop a bit was above min tho it's only did 30 miles since last checked , what timing belt lot and water pump do you recommend ( heard there are some brands to avoid ).
-
Hi there not sure if mine is loosing coolant whilst driving or whilst parked, I don't remember seeing any bubbles in bottle . I'll have to get water pump looked at by the sound of it .

Might be map sensor worth checking, my one had flashing coil light I replaced EGR which didn't fix it and turned out to be a map sensor in end .

Yh have seen a few posts about it but sometimes people change the water pump and still have leak, by the way forgot to mention when engine is totally cold and I open coolant cap I can hear the pressure release is this normal?

What make you say that buddy wouldn't it be leaking a lot more as most of the week coolant is fine but sometimes drops a few inches, also wouldn't leak be obvious like few drops of coolant on floor. Thanks for the reply.
