  1. Wiring is fine on ballast i think mate however have noticed the wire seems frayed/damaged where the hid wires ( white and blue) connect to headlight wiring. I have not swapped the bulb onto driver side yet as I managed to thread one of the screws for the backing cover. Going to remove it with pliers or drill out and try the new bulb on that side. Also not sure if relevant or not have a fault code for 00991 interior lights short to plus, however all my interior lights seem to be working fine.
  2. I have tried both bulbs as bought as a pair direct from retrofit lab and not working.
  3. Hi fellow briskoda members I am having an issue with some aftermarket headlights i have. They are retrofit lab projectors fitted inside the halogen housing, they have been fitted over a year and been working fine till recently passenger bulb failed. I put in new bulbs but the bulb flickers asif it's trying to power on, ballasts have been swapped around and have been ruled out. Just wondering if anyone could point me in direction as to what else to check next, have checked fuse number 54 and swapped for another one but still no luck.
  4. Personally I would get all the injectors tested , pretty sure you can check for bad injectors on vcds.
  5. Also has your car had the emissions recall done as it is known to reduce injector and egr life and cause other problems.
  6. Here is the link for the injectors you should be buying, also seen two for sale at 180 brand new boxed too. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/382703990380
  7. Not 100% sure but when injectors are removed the gaskets have to be changed so if he had all injectors off and never replaced the gaskets that may be the reason other injectors failed too. By the way apparently recon injectors are no good apparently as they cannot be reconditioned, think its around 250 per injector brand new.
  8. Hi mate yeah seems common issue on these funnily enough I knew it was going to happen eventually, just going to test for leaks using some dye and uv light before I change water pump to make sure it's not leaking elsewhere. I've also had the secondary water pump changed not long ago as it failed didn't seem to affect running of the car just had engine management on , was a very easy job to do as you can access it from underneath the vehicle.
  9. Let me know what the problem was.
  10. Bit pricey for just parts alone would have expected to pay around 200, might just do an order of euro car parts and choose best brand they stock.
  11. Just checked coolant whilst on break it did drop a bit was above min tho it's only did 30 miles since last checked , what timing belt lot and water pump do you recommend ( heard there are some brands to avoid ).
  12. Hi there not sure if mine is loosing coolant whilst driving or whilst parked, I don't remember seeing any bubbles in bottle . I'll have to get water pump looked at by the sound of it .
  13. Might be map sensor worth checking, my one had flashing coil light I replaced EGR which didn't fix it and turned out to be a map sensor in end .
  14. Yh have seen a few posts about it but sometimes people change the water pump and still have leak, by the way forgot to mention when engine is totally cold and I open coolant cap I can hear the pressure release is this normal?
  15. What make you say that buddy wouldn't it be leaking a lot more as most of the week coolant is fine but sometimes drops a few inches, also wouldn't leak be obvious like few drops of coolant on floor. Thanks for the reply.
  16. Hi there over the last month or so I am having a problem with loss of coolant, every week or so the coolant seems to go below the min level. Car is used on motorway 60 miles a day for 4 days then after that local journey's, rarely give it any abuse. Which parts should I check out as can not find any puddles on floor. Would appreciate any help, thanks.
  17. Ain't all places closed now , if you can send me a link so I can order them that would be great I'm guessing mine would be less cause I have drums on rear. Thanks mate I'll watch the video 👍
  18. By the way guys not related to the topic but does the emissions fix include just a software update and no other changes as I found out that my car has had the fix carried out ( guessing first owner was aware) and have seen some of the issues this causes.
  19. Thanks mate guess I'll stick with OEM discs or brembos, any other good pads you recommend as Ferrodo might be Abit pricey.
  20. Hi there guys when carrying out some work to suspension noticed that my pads need replacing and discs also, what do you guys recommend for discs and pads been looking at ATE discs and ebc greenstuff pads or brembo pads although have heard bad stuff about ebc but don't know whether they have improved over the years. Car is totally standard and is my daily does get odd abuse here and there so just wanting slightly better braking than standard, cheers.
  21. Yeah I'm probably gonna stick to stock then if not much benefit as its my daily driver anyway, can you send me the link to the braided brake hoses. My set ups going to probably be brembo discs and ebc pads, worth doing brake fluid as well at same time hope should improve slightly. Thanks.
  22. Yeah will do not in a rush got a few more jobs on the car to do before it's ready for map. Have you upgraded brakes on yours I find them to be terrible and the rear drums need attention on mine as they are making a squeeky noise. How hard is it to swap a vrs rear axle in?
  23. Thanks I see that they are only 50 miles away whereas Darkside and ADE are further up, do they offer dpf and EGR solutions?
  24. Hi there guys just wondering if anyone has done the software rollback for vehicles that had the "VW fix" as my car had fix done by previous owner. Seen a few companies online that do it but wanting to go to someone reputable as I'm sure there's a lot of cowboys out there.
  25. So let's say it is the stalk at fault ( will have to investigate later) how do I go about fixing it do I replace the whole stalk ? And is it an easy job to be done yourself. Thanks for the help by the way.
