  3. Recently paid over the odds for a dog of a mk1 elegance 4x4 1.8t Estate/kombi. Was told about a few electrical gremlins and assumed the usual, door loom and microswitch. With no central locking, both rear doors deadlocked and the boot lock seized/ whole boot lid needing replacing. I've dedided to make the most of it🤣. Having watch my dad battle with his ex police vrs deadlocking and joking about turning it into a van, that is exactly what I'm going to do. So I am wondering, if i replace the drivers front window regulator and motor, and get that working can i remove the rear switches and loom in the dead locked doors before I attempt to weld/get them welded up and remove all glass apart from the boot get panels patched in? All work will be happening within the month as soon as a dang mk5 golf has been sold and I have space in my garage to do such an adventure. Would only need central locking and windows for the 2 front doors, and boot.
  4. I can certainly take some for you when he's back for you mate, nothing left of it police wise just a lot of holes and trace of the police stickers on rear windows, wouldn't mind seeing it in its hay day, love detail you've gone into on yours glad i found the post👍
  5. My dad has an ex police white vrs estate think it was from Devonshire police, didn't feel as quick as my mk1 saloon and the Elegance estate 1.8t4x4 I'm driving at the moment seems quicker top end (i may just have a heavier foot and feel braver driving my own car) but even with him behind wheel it still don't feel like there's anything extra there.
