  1. Does anyone know whether the newer Mk II Fabia DRL reflector piece would retrofit into a Mk i Fabia Fog Light Housing? The DRLs I am referring to are the ones with the four LED's mounted in a "fog" like housing that go into the lower grill 5J0 941 067 — DRL left 5J0 941 068 — DRL right The existing fog Lights I have are" 6H0 941 699 A 6H0 941 700 A
  2. I just found a pic of the 6X0698998 kit and there is one critical difference - the Lupo kit does not have the slots for the optional return spring (like the one I fitted) The 1J0698998 kit includes slots in the bracket for a spring - otherwise they are identical to each other.
  3. Thanks mate. Do you think both are overkill? I kind of think they perhaps have two different functions..so I want to put both on.
  4. Bump for a query. Great information above! Does this kit fit the 256mm 4-motion / 4x4 rear calipers? I fitted these springs on my 4-motion R32 to stop "mooing" (which worked as well and a lot cheaper), but I have seen photos with both the spring and this repair kit. The springs help retract the handbrake lever fully to stop rubbing and noise, but perhaps these dampers are only for the noise? Looks like lever is the same on my caliper (256 x22 vented)
  5. The Superb I (3U model) only has an electrical relay to control the "Coming Home Lights", so it has to be manually activated with the flasher stalk. If you want to display l/100km you need to change the Country Code in the softcoding of the cluster. Unfortunately because it is a metric measurement, you will also end up with a km odometer reading as well. If you look on my Webspace here, there is a list of features for each Country Code about halfway down the page: http://www.users.on.net/~graeme86/clusterprog/clusterprog.html
  6. Hi, thank you very much for reply. For some reason I did not receive a notification of your post. Did you perhaps observe the actual time for the display warning?
  7. Also interested in how long the "SERVICE ..." message is visible when you start the car. If you turn the ignition on, but do not start the car - how long does it display? Is it 20 seconds? More importantly, how long is the "SERVICE ..." message displayed if you turn ignition on and actually start the car? Is it only 2 seconds? Very interested to find out this time. I have found a couple of bytes in the cluster eeprom that might alter the distance/time displays.
  8. Just have a question about the Skoda Superb Maxidot display. When the service is coming up, according to the manual, the display starts to countdown from 1500km and then at 100km intervals. If you have a Maxidot with mph speedo, can you please advise what figure the countdown starts at and what the countdown interval is as well.
  9. Hi Greenline owners! I have a question about the Start/Stop system over-ride button: When you press it, how does the system show it is turned off? Is it in the maxidot display as a warning light or does the button itself light up as the warning? If the button lights up, what colour is the warning and which part lights up? i.e. just the "OFF" text or the whole thing? Also presumably it has green illumination with the dash lights? Sorry for all the questions - just not released in Australia yet...and maybe not ever as a Greenline anyway, as we are classed as a "tropical country", so currently even the Bluemotion Polos are not sold here either. Diesel is still only AUD1.44 per litre at the moment anyway (thats ~ 90 pence/litre).
  10. Hi, Fabia rear wipers are a common mod for a Mk IV Golf. So which rear arm is shorter, the Hatchback version or the Estate Version? If anyone has a measurement from the centre of the pivot point to the end of the arm that would be much appreciated. Thanks Graeme
  11. Thanks. I am pretty certain the difference in the part numbers is because the installed front bush is different on the Cupra R, so they give their "assembly" a different part number. As you can see in your first picture, the casting itself has 8NO 407 165 on it, but the listed part number if you want to buy one is 8N0407151D, because they come with the two bushes installed as well, so the sundry parts now become an all-in-one "new assembly" with its own number.. The TT and R32 versions are the same number because they have identical bushings from the factory as well.
  12. Leon Cupra R's have a different part number for their cast A-arms 1ML407151 and 1ML407152 TT/R32 use the same a-arm 8N0407151D and 8N0407152D The Cupra R also has a different part number for the front bush in their a-arm as well Would love to know what the actual difference is with the Cupra R stuff. :|+ snow_muncher - could you see any difference in the a-arms themselves?? Does that "Leon BAM" arm have a number cast on it somewhere??? I am just thinking that seeing as the a-arms come as a unit with the bushes preinstalled if you order them as a part , and the cupra r bush is different (- probably stiffer rubber?) , that may account for the different a-arm part numbers in the catalogue, even though the casting is identical. Should be confirmable if we can get a number off your casting. Edit ..sorry snow_muncher, you already said above: "Cast Wishbone: 8NO 407 165 and 8NO 407 166" So ... you little beauty! I'm going to order the Leon Cupra R front bushes - almost 100% sure they will be stiffer than the stock ones I have now. I was thinking about the DEFCON bush mod, but this will be almost as good for my purposes keeping the larger bush.
