  1. I've had a 150 Octavia remapped to about 200 hp and a 1.6 Rapid from 88 to 150. Both cost about £250. The octavia benefits from much crisper acceleration and top speed obviously, but it now "hangs on" in higher gears when accelerating on a lighter throttle as there is much more torque to allow it to do this. Tried it against an Audi A5 S-line (175hp) and it wasn't even trying against a flat out A5. (private motorway, of course) MPG is about the same The Rapid is completely different. Its now what a "rapid" should have been. Knocked seconds off 30 - 70 in a straight line which is exactly what I wanted. Fuel comsumptoon is perhaps worse, but , then, I do tend to play with the extra performance
  2. 8MA 376 702-464 Postage and VAT brought it to £21.20
  3. The new expansion tank has turned up safely, so mine will get swapped out shortly. Not worth taking the gamble for £20 or thereabouts. I was slightly concerned that the fixings might be different, but, no, all exactly as the original
  4. Here you go. Water would run down the side and underneath the plastic. The gaffer tape redirects it down to the bottom and then on to the bumper and away. Worked for me!
  5. I had a similar problem a couple of years ago. Ended up with an inch of water in the wheel well. Having drained it, and dried it I covered the whole area in talc powder and waited for the rain to come back. This very effectively shows me the track of the water ingress. Turned out to be coming in under the black plastic trim next to the rear lights after running down the side of the car where the boot shuts onto it. It then went half way across the car inside the plastic cover and ran down a rivet to drain into the wheel well. A simple piece of gaffer tape across it stopped it permanently. Can't get to the car at the mo, but I'll post up a pic if that doesn't sound clear
  6. My 2105 locks with the central locking. If I open the flap I can see a black knob that you push in. If I push in and hold it there, then press the fob to lock, it stays in the locked in position. I can feel the knmow being energised when it locks
  7. I would be a bit surprised if you had the original injectors, still after that mileage
  8. Post a picture of the display behind the steering wheel and you'll soon get a definitive answer
  9. The dealer is right. Try going into 1st each time before then going straight into reverse. It give s the cogs a chance to spin up
  10. Can't really go wrong here: - https://www.buycarparts.co.uk/hella/10421168
  11. I've got the same car as you and it was still on the original battery. Showed a few signs recently of not having a great deal of reserve capacity, so decided to swap it out. For an easy life I used Halfords and they fitted their 096 AGM battery with a 5 year guarantee. I does need coding to the car or else it will fry within 12 months ( acording to them) £182 fitted and coded. Might be more than some places, but heyho it was a drive in and drive out job. Still cheaper than a Skoda Stealer
  12. Hmmm from VAG Are UK cars part of the recall? No. A spokesperson for Volkswagen UK revealed to i that UK-based cars weren't affected by the fault. "This recall does not affect customers in the United Kingdom," they said. "It applies only to the South-East Asia region which includes Australia."
