  1. I've no idea if oil change was he Service Campaign 34F7 as the car is in the garage and the paperwork just states DSG oil change. The quoted cost is £2400 as a worst case, it may be less.
  2. Hi All Thanks for the replies. In my original post I said it was a DQ250, it's not, it's a DQ200 fitted in a 2012 VW Touran 1.6TDI with 61K, it had a DSG oil change by VW at 40k. The car is in a garage that specialise in transmissions (auto and manual), but they use a separate company to deal with bookings and customer related work, it was this company that told me the wrong info on the faults. I'm now in contact with the garage directly and the tech dealing with car. The clutch pack is faulty, and gear selectors are warn. So it's getting a new clutch pack, gear selectors and and the metatronic unit calibrated.
  3. Hi All, I've not posted for a good while, but now I need help. My wife's DSG box (DQ250 7 speed) has lost 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th gears. I put it into a garage and they have said that the clutch needs replacing, it has also contaminated the gearbox, so this will need a rebuild, in turn the gearbox has contaminated the metatronic unit, add to this the wiring harness needs replacing. Is this even a remotely possibility, as in my eyes how can a dry clutch contaminate the gearbox, and in turn the metatronic unit, as all three are separate units in themselves ?
  4. Hi Guys, you've gone off topic but I love the old British stuff, so keep it coming 😀
  5. Like you I've always had old cars (end of life cars I call them), but went for something newer this time, a lot newer. After looking at the various options that fitted my requirements the Yeti stood out. I now have a 2016 2L TDI 148 L&K and love it.
  6. That's very useful info, thank you. In essence it means I can fit the tow bar and electrics myself (not the first one I've done) and get it plugged in later. I have VCDS light, but not the full version so I'll still need help with that.
  7. I need to fit a tow bar to my Yeti, I'm glad I looked on here before ordering one. Does the PFJones vehicle specific kit still require the car to be reprogramed ? I have a 66 plate L&K (so LED lights etc.
  8. Guys, I've only just got what is the newest car I've ever owned and you're talking about replacing it already. I plan to get 10 years out of this, minimum, that'll still make it newer than my usual cars. I was happy to go out this morning and not get the scraper out, loving the heated screen.
  9. Well I picked my Yeti up today, it's a 66 plate TDI 150 4x4 outdoor L&K in pearl white. I must say I'm very impressed with it, put close to 100 miles on it and have found it comfortable, powerful and shore footed, it's a good specked car. I went for the Yeti as it fitted with many compromises, ie. the seat height had to be tall enough for my wife ( she has hip problems), tow a caravan, low(ish) road tax, good economy, yet be nice to drive. Well all I can say is it meets all of these without feeling like a compromise. Well done Skoda.
  10. Hi Gaz I'm 3 years into Granddadhood and loving it. My last car was a Audi A4 B5 Avant 1.9 110, my first VAG car and was so impressed with it even at 21 years old it led me to stay with a VAG product.
  11. Hi All Thought I should follow protocol and introduce myself. I'm Mark, I've been a bit of a car guy all my life, but never had the money for anything special, but now I can I'm a grandad, tow a caravan and all the other boring stuff life throws at us, so have compromised and got myself a 66 plate Yeti 2.0 TDI Laurin & Klement Outdoor 4WD 150, looking forward to daily ownership. In the past I made my own Biodiesel (I bet I know a few of you from VOD as there's quite a few on there that run Skodas) but stopped a few years back, so no risk of messing up the euro6 stuff on the Yeti.
