  1. 23 spec 1.5 SEL Auto. Tonight in the semi dark, street lights on, I unlocked the car then locked it again. The wing mirrors folded in but the courtesy light in them would not turn off. This repeated several times. If I get out of the car, shut the door without locking, the lights went off without the mirrors closing of course. I see in settings there is a car arriving and departing setting which I have turned off . Any suggestions please , is it a setting or a fault.
  2. Hi Oli, I've just parted with a 42 month old SEL and its been perfect, no faults. Hope you enjoy yours. To be honest , I dont know the answer to your question but I am sure someone on here will help.
  3. Thanks again CJJE, Chris. With regard to Skoda Connect ( thanks to Kenny R) and considering this car does 3500 miles a year mostly local I personally have decided not to sign up to this feature. No great benefit in my case.
  4. Thank Kenny R, I will have a look tonight. More questions tomorrow.
  5. CJJE, thanks Chis for your comments, as I may have said, I had no idea of any benefit. Strangely my sat nav updated on Tuesday and I've had a black screen and a frozen screen both before and after the update. I will keep an eye on it. I presume it updated the software and not the map.
  6. To sussamb, I have told the dealer twice in the last 6 weeks I dont want to sign up and your advice reflects what I am thinking, thanks. Kenny R thanks for your input, your right I could always do that. I guess they want me signed up so they hope they can bill me next year.
  7. I am being pestered to sign up to Skoda connect on my new Karoq. Should I, what's it for, etc. I seem to remember about 4 years ago, it was not well regarded.
  8. Many thanks phope not actually seen one of these before.
  9. Sure thanks Kodiaqsportline, I took 47 out as I removed the piggyback dashcam fuse. I did put it back in. But as you say the box was bare really. Everything worked that should. 42 months with the car and no problems 😊. I will be fitting the dashcam shortly, I will post a picture of the fuse layout in the new car.
  10. OK George, dont worry I wouldn't use them, ever.
  11. This is the 2020 fusebox, behind the glovebox. This was a 1.5 tsi petrol auto.
  12. Hi, I'm looking in the new owners manual, page 158. It maybe that my memory is, that the 2020 fusebox was a lot less populated than this photo. I need to look at what is actually there. But thanks, fuse 47 may do it. I have a phot of the old box setup and will try to post it shortly.
  13. Many thanks, I have seen a picture of the new fusebox and it looks quite different.
  14. Which fuse to piggyback onto? The 2023 1.5 sel petrol seems to have a different fusebox layout to the 2020 model although I haven't dropped the glovebox down yet. Any advice on which fuse to use would be welcome. Thanks
  15. Many thanks Modders, they are going in the loft for at least 3 years.
  16. My new Karoq has the aerodynamic wheel inserts ( plastic) which remind me that we all had plastic wheel trims on steel wheels. Can Skoda quantify the benefit in MPH, I doubt it whatever they may say. However other manufacturers are also fitting them. The problem is you cannot successfully clean the alloy wheels without removing them and thats both an added chore and eventually the inserts will be damaged. I am going to take mine off but will need 4 new center caps. Can someone point me to a supplier please, 18 inch alloys. From new with 230 miles on the clock this car a 1.5 tsi act auto petrol showed 52.7 mpg on a 135 mile trip across country from North Wales and I was very pleased with this. However I repeated the journey 10 days later in BMW X1 2.0ltr M sport, 3 years old and the trip showed 53.1mpg. That surprised me. Thanks in advance
  17. Cheers surreyjohn, I'm taking all this advice in and will post when I take action. Most breakdown insurance companies will not let you take out a policy more than 30 days in advance.
  18. Thanks kodiaksportline, my car is due for service in about 6 weeks, I'll let you know how I get on.
  19. Thanks Daveybm my local Skodaa dealership has just changed hands and they are touting for business so worth a try.
  20. I note that on the Skoda website you can renew breakdown cover at a cost from £99 for a year.
  21. Having checked, you are correct in that the return address on the letter is for the AA although it seems to be a Skoda document, thanks for that.
  22. Just been advised my 3 year breakdown cover ends on the 30th of October. I took the 4th year factory warranty when I purchased the car. Should the breakdown cover extend free for the 4th year? I cannot determin this from paperwork I have to hand. Some advice before I ask Skoda would be welcome, thanks.
  23. Well the dealer put a meter on the rear screen and its working and indeed you can smell the element heating up. I can only guess therefore that by removing the fuse and re- seating it has cured the problem. Maybe it was not fully located in the holder slot. Anyway all is good and the dealer promises a full diagnostic if the problem shows up again. Excellent service from the dealer I must say. Thanks kodiaqsportline for your comments.
  24. Little update, the fuse is number 53 and is rated 30amp ( green). The fuse was ok so its at the dealers at 2pm who think one of the connectors at the screen may have " jumped off". The connectors are not visible behind the trim so I will leave this to them. I hope this is the case or we will be into warranty work.
  25. Yes indeed and I appreciate your comment. Its a dashcam but I think on fuse 47 and the dashcams working OK. Only going to solve it by looking, maybe tomorrow. Just refreshed my memory on dropping the glovebox so should only take a few minutes. I will post my finding ASAP. Thanks
