  1. TMB, thank you. I had previously been in touch with the ebay seller, (Rainworth Skoda) about this item, 6Q2612041E. It is similar to mine but not identical, Mine has the inlet and outlet of the non-return valve in-line and the 90 degree rubber pipe between the non-return valve and the engine in the same plane as the servo 90 degree connector but facing in the opposite direction (towards the engine). Rainworth confirmed part E is not correct for my car, There are some helpful diagrams on http://www.oemepc.com/skoda/part_single/catalog/sk/markt/CZ/modell/FAB/year/2002/drive_standart/225/hg_ug/611/subcategory/611070/part_id/0/lang/e#sec_7 Part B on my car looks like item 7 in the diagram although they show part B as item 6 which I think is wrong. Part E is shown as item 7 but the picture on ebay shows that it is different at the non-return valve end. Perhaps I will buy part E and try and fit it, or even just make use of the plastic pipe section. Interesting that the ebay pics show an expiry date on the part, 2018/09, I wonder what is expected to happen to plastic after this date?
  2. Sepulchrave Thanks for the suggestion but unfortunately the cut and refit will not work for me as the pipe is a simple straight run of 30cm from the non-return valve to the 90 degree connector on the servo . Any reduction in length will make the pipe too short. It is not like some of the longer more complex shaped pipes which will allow a bit of wiggle room.
  3. I have a 2002 Automatic AUA petrol engine Mk1 Fabia. The hard black plastic vacuum pipe from engine to brake servo has started to split next to the non-return valve, common problem apparantly. It is part 6Q2612041B but Skoda say this is no longer available. I plan to replace it between the non-return valve and the servo with silicone vacuum hose but I do not know what internal diameter hose I need to fit over the barbs on the connectors at each end. I do know that 4mm is too small !. Can anyone tell me what internal diameter I need? Thanks
  4. How strange, I had exactly the same problem a few weeks ago. I thought a bulb had blown but on checking I found the bulb rolling around inside the lens cover, I would have thought it impossible for the bulb to fallout from the holder but it had. It was impossible to fish the bulb out thru the hole so I had to remove the complete lens, several small nuts to be undone inside the boot, then remove the lens and hold it horizontally with the red side uppermost and jiggle it about until the bulb can fall out thru the hole. Sounds a fiddle but it's simple and should only take a few minutes. Good luck.
  5. Yes it is anticlock to remove. If the filter was originally put on too tight or has been on a long time it could be a struggle to remove. Working from underneath, preferably on a lift, will allow greater leverage to get the old one off. Doesn't matter if you destroy the old one so long as you have the new one ready to go on. Regards
  6. I changed the oil and filter on my '02 petrol 1.4 16v Fabia today. All went well, removed the old filter by hand so it had not been put on too tight last time, but before I put the new filter on I noticed that the threaded pipe that the filter screws onto could easily be rotated in the block. I don't remember these ever being loose on other cars. I tightened the new genuine Skoda filter by hand so it's not too tight, No leaks, everything seems ok. Anyone got any comments about this loose threaded pipe, is it meant to be like this? Regards Springyboy
  7. I've an '02 Fabia 1.4 16v Automatic. It's been in the back of my garage unused for 18 months, except for starting it every few months. It's only done 8500 very gentle miles but its now 6 years old. What do folk think about changing the belt on so low a mileage car but which is now over the recc'd 4 year change interval. Last time I started it everything was fine but I'd appreciate any advice about bringing it back into service.
