  1. Ill get underneath it monday and have a look. Hopefully if it is that it should be easy to change them over.
  2. Hi, i do push it down but when its cold it doesnt want to stay down all the way. It’s like its trying to push back a little bit. The handbrake has usual 3-4 clicks. 4th click requires effort though ha Barnowl
  3. hi, i don't post on here very often so i'll thank for any help in advance. For a few months now i've ben having handbrake issues on my mk 3 hatchback. What's happening is the back brakes creek after applying the hand brake, like it's not fuly engaged but it actually does hold. and when i take the handbrake off and do any kind of manouver in the car, the back brakes creak again. Over winter this year when the temps have been low, when i lower my handbrake it seems to bounce towards the bottom, then the light comes on saying handbrake still on. Like the handbrake is resisting going down. I can drive with my hand on it and after 10 min or so it seems to go down properly. but that's only at cold temps. Last year when i had these issues, i replaced my rear discs and pads and did the handbrake pull up to re adjust the pots, and this didn't do anything. I'm now at a loss as to what i can do next. Some places say the handbrake cable is over stretched and needs replacing, and others say it may be calliper issues. I have just bought some dot 4 and going to change the fluid this weekend as it hasn't had any new for a while. Any suggestions would be appreciated. it's starting to drive me mad. Thanks Barnowl
  4. hi, this was a new problem i had a few weeks ago, where i would close the passenger door and it would lock the whole car. like something was shorting in the door. i took the card off and wiggled the electrical connector on the bottom of the lock mechanism and it would lock the whole car. so i replaced the door lock and it now doesn't do it. all i can think it was was a dodgy connection in the lock it's self.
  5. I've just had a similar issue and i replaced the passenger door lock mechanism. This stopped it. I think if 1 lock is faulty, it sends the message to all the others to lock. on my quest to find this i tested power down the cables on the loom and i found that grounding any of the cables in the lock loom causes it to lock or fluctuate between lock and dead lock. lock cost me £40 from a breakers yard.
  6. hi, did you ever complete this? i am attempting the same thing with the other half's 09 fabia and so far had a day of nothing but shouting and swearing at it. Thanks Matt
  7. Actually getting fed up of hearing about it now. I bought a cable which came in what appeared to be genuinely packaged. Until i contacted ross tech i had no idea it was fake. My problem is now, if i had known how much it cost i wouldn't have bothered A buying a cable and B modding my ecu in the first place. The mods aren't worth that much to me. I was just looking for some advice to reverse a mod but instead people prefer to barrage me with comments about using a fake cable. I wonder how many others on here also use fake kits but don't own up to it.
  8. So i've found the culprit but now unable to find it in the list of codes to turn it off. IDE 08539 is showing active on ignition but when the ignition is off it changes to none active. So my next question is how do you find a code that isn't listed? How the hell i turned this on i'll nver know.
  9. Im using the same cable but using the free version of vcds. I cannot afford software and a cable of that expense. If i was diagnosing cars for people then yes. Also i did try to return it stating it wasnt genuine but the seller has already closed the account. (Or ebay has). Ill try and post the sticker with the variant codes if that helps in any way.

  11. Thanks ill move it there. Not sure on the options. As far as im aware its bog standard. Is there a way to find out what extras are on like a plate somewhere or sticker? Thanks
  12. Hi all, a couple of years ago i mucked up coding my front fog lights. It has left me with a light stuck on on the drivers side rear. Ive changed pcs a few times since so no log to view. The only way i can see of fixing this (without skoda) is an autoscan from an identical car. I can then scroll down page by page until i find the culprit. Would anyone be willing to share an auto scan of a 2013 5e model please?
  13. hi, i have contacted Ross-Tech and "apparently" my cable is a fake. Probably so as it cost me about £80, but it has always done everything else in the past. They say if i buy a genuine cable this will correct the problem. (I doubt it as i checked ROD folder from the install and there is no file that it is looking for). Any Ideas?
