  1. Apologies for the delay, a quick update. My local Skoda dealer removed and refitted the top door seal along with a new polished trim top piece. I am keeping an eye on the situation, its been 3 weeks now seems to be OK so far - touch wood. This work was not under warranty due to it being a known TPI. The dash rattle I located myself, and applied discreetly some anti-rattle tape (you cannot see it). The source of the rattle was from bottom left plastic instrument binnacle, it was touching the main dashboard, hence the noise appeared to be originating from around the central vent area in the dashboard. I leveraged the binnacle gently using a trim tool and 'padded out' the binnacle gap against the dashboard with the anti-rattle tape (maybe 1/4 mm thick). This has cured 75% of the rattling, I may see if I can improve upon this further at some point, but its at a level now of infrequent rattling that does not get on my nerves!
  2. Thanks for the replies, all useful. I popped along to my local Skoda dealer yesterday, put forward my case and showed the trim issue. To their credit they knew of the issue - no denying they hadn't seen it before - knew of the TPI (thanks BillyJim for exact ref) and ordered the required parts there and then. Car goes in Friday morning this week before work (providing the parts arrive by then), collect after work hopefully with the new parts fitted as per the TPI. I'll update how I get on with this. Have a great NYE 👍
  3. Hi, new guy here I purchased a 66 plate Superb SE L Executive 150 TDI hatchback as approved used from Skoda dealer 6 weeks ago. Overall very pleased with the car, quite a change from my MK7 Golf GTI ! 2K miles covered, and I have two issues which I need to address: 1) The chrome trim on top of drivers door is catching the rear door top trim, it seems quite a common issue on earlier Superb's from what I read. Closer inspection and trim removal shows what looks like the whole upper door seal has moved 'backwards' towards the rear door. I have read on here that owners have had new seals fitted. My question is anyone had this issue sorted sorted under extended approved used Skoda warranty? My cars factory warranty ended in October 2019, but I have approved used Skoda warranty. I guess as it is a trim issue will not be covered now? Anyone know the cost of replacement if not under warranty? This issue is messing with my OCD and needs sorting before it gets worse I did not notice this issue when I viewed the car, only in the past week has the trim catching started to occur. 2) Again well documented on here, an annoying rattle top centre of the dash over certain road surfaces happens, possibly from the large centre metal grill above the air vents towards the windscreen is the cause. Anyone had managed to remove this grill and fix the rattle? Is the grill easy to remove? My two closest main Skoda dealers are Bristol Street Skoda Darlington and Derek Slack in Middlesbrough if this is relevant. Thanks all Mike
