  2. Lol, the Golf was another car bought off a friend. A VR6 which served as a daily driver for a while. I'm torn between using it as a running gear donor for a Mk1 or 3 Cabrio or tickling it with the welder. Its got a sweet engine, still starts on the button. Having gone through a Corrado VR6 over the last couple of years and getting on back on the road another project beckons. PS I replaced the Fabia with another Bonelorry hand me down, his Golf GTI Edition 35.
  3. The time has come and the Fabia has found a new home. I haven't posted much on this forum as life has got in the way while I've had the Fabia. Ownership had been a great experience and I've enjoyed every minute of the ride, I'll stay a member as you never know what will happen in the future. It's sad to see the car go, it has had lots of positive comments over the years ( except from my teenage daughter who couldn't get along with the colour 😄, personally I've loved it), been totally reliable, practical and fun, even if some of that was chasing max mpg rather than speed! I've also loved the fact that most other Mk1 VRS owners either flash or exchange thumbs up when you see them, reminded me of the old Beetle days and the camaraderie that went with ownership. I've attached a few photos for posterity, taken just before the sale. I think the new owners a member also so hopefully the car will stay on the scene and the record started by bonelorry (previous owner) will continue.

Hello, I'm not new to briskoda I actually signed up last January but as you'll appreciate, life in the last 18 months has been very different to the norm I ended up working a 6 day week when others were furloughed, juggling this with a carer role. All in, not much time to post or indeed log in and participate. Anyhow going back to January last year I bought Bonelorry's Fabia VRS, hence joining briskoda. Top bloke, and I'm lucky enough to be able to call him a good mate. Anyhow, back to business, I've had a free weekend, the sun was shining so I did some detailing and decided to post some pictures. If you know the car, Bonelorry did a great job bringing it up to a terrific standard so I've just needed to keep it at that level. I enjoy detailing, it's a good way for me to unwind, you see a result for your effort and it's satisfying. More to follow if there's any interest, I could only upload a couple of pics due to size restrictions.
