Thoughts on this VRS
the worry as well is if i have a boot full of stuff (2 kids, pram, bike, shopping etc) the car will start bottoming out a little and scrubbing and i don't want that 😞

Thoughts on this VRS
Can i get people's thoughts on this VRS please? Have spoke to the dealer, sounds a good car, history, clean, just had oil and filters done along with DSG service. new discs and pads all round and the wheels are in being refurbed (in black). But, does the car look lowered to anyone else? There doesn't seem to be an awful lot of room in the wheel arch? Ideally i want something standard. Thoughts? https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202205115598921?advert-type=dealer-stock&advertising-location=at_cars&advertising-location=at_profile_cars&fromDealerSearchResults=%2Fretailer%2Fstock%3Fsort%3Dprice-asc%26page%3D1%26dealer%3D10011937%26onesearchad%3DUsed%26onesearchad%3DNearly%20New%26onesearchad%3DNew%26advertising-location%3Dat_cars%26advertising-location%3Dat_profile_cars&dpp=10011937&sort=price-asc&percentVehiclePriceDeposit=true

Is a Superb 272 calling me?
The garage has said they will give the car a service before it is sold, which will be oil, pollen filter, air filter and full brake strip and a check over of the vehicle. Can you just tell me what a "haldex" service is please as i haven't heard of that before i don't think?

the garage has sent through a service history certificate to me that reads: date of service - 30.01.2018 type of service - Used car MPC mileage - 7,001 date of service - 08.06.2020 type of service - Oil change service mileage - 33,459 That is all i have, apart from it is on a 18,000 mile/2 year service interval

Is a Superb 272 calling me?
So, thought i would bump this old thread rather than start a new one. I am in need of a "new" car, and i am in a position where I can get a car I want (something like a superb 272, octavia vrs etc), or I just go and buy a little run around for a few thousand - something I don't want, but will work for me. Having seen the second hand market prices go through the roof, i was put off getting a 272 as a car that was £24k this time last year is now selling for £28-30k this year - it's crazy. But, i found this one the other day - it is slightly older than i would have liked, and has 50k miles on the clock, but it does have the digital dash which is what i have been holding out for, and its under £20k. Can i get others thoughts on it? I personally love the colour, the wife not so much. The only real "issues" with the car are the seat bolster is worn a bit - assume that isn't repairable, and the passenger front door handle has an issue where its jutted out and doesn't sit flush, so the garage are fixing that before the car is sold. The car in question is this one....thoughts? https://www.dalesautomotive.co.uk/used-skoda-superb-kelbrook-lancashire-4269544

flappy paddles
there is actually an SEL model literally down the road from me in a Seat dealership - i am impressed with how much kit that has (virtual dash, electric heated front seats etc) - but doesn't have a camera. The sales guy said they use a company that can fit a rear/reverse camera for about £250, but no idea how good that will be or not.

flappy paddles
I think on the list of options I would love one to have are: virtual dash (must) heated and electric front seats (must) rear camera (must, as the car is soo bloody long) canton (semi must) paddles (semi must) rear wiper (semi must) heated rear seats (nice to have but no deal breaker) automatic boot close (nice to have but no deal breaker) found a nice L&K superb - not from a skoda dealer though, but no paddles

flappy paddles
yes - it seems they are few and far between. it appears they are on most of the 272 models, but they aren't on an L&K and an SEL one i found and like the look of. They aren't a deal breaker (virtual dash, canton and heated seats are what i am looking for as a minimum), but nice to have the option - otherwise i guess its a flick of the gear stick in order to go up and down gears if you want to?

flappy paddles
Hi all, Were there any trim levels of the Superb that had the flappy paddles as standard as part of the DSG set up, or were they always an option? I have decided that a Superb is my next choice of car, it's now just about finding the right one. Prices seem to have sky rocketed in 6 months, so I am not just going to buy one for the sake of it, but in a position to pull the trigger when the right one comes available. For reference, back in Jan/Feb time this year, i was offered a 69 plate 272 Superb at just under £25k from a Skoda dealer (was working out around £388 a month) - i passed on it and now it seems similar cars are £4-5k more!

Still negotiating - just checking an issue with the mileage. The dealership has shown me a summary detail page of the car which shows the VED List Price being £39,670 - I assume this is the price that is used for tax reasons, and therefore it will not be in the higher bracket? Is there anywhere of checking what the tax is for this particular car by using the reg?

i have found one - just negotiating on price. it is RIGHT at the top end of my budget - like at the max, so trying to get a little more off etc. It is also bloomin miles away, so i need to work out how i would pick it up. I need a new car, as mine has died - and I need a car to pick my son up every other weekend, so in my mind picking a car up would be an essential journey, but i guess the police might not see it that way? (will cost £200 for it to be delivered).

Is a Superb 272 calling me?
Would anyone here buy/purchase GAP insurance through a dealer, or go elsewhere (one of the other insurance companies)? The dealership i am dealing with have included GAP for 3 years in my PCP quote and its costing £11 a month. Or I can get cover for 4 years for about £28 a month (for 10 months - so £280 outlay). Just not sure if they are all much of a muchness?

Is a Superb 272 calling me?
thats the one - would love that in any superb i buy. I take it it isn't standard then? i will need to ask any dealer to see if it comes with it

Is a Superb 272 calling me?
what would it be called as an optional extra, is it part of a "pack" of some description?
-
Is a Superb 272 calling me?
can anyone tell me if the Superb has the feature where it shows you the speed limit of the road you are driving on, as a little display within your main digital display? Was looking at the VW Arteon 272 earlier and they seemed to have it on them, but I haven't seen any photos of a Superb with this feature. Is it an optional extra?

Is a Superb 272 calling me?

-
Is a Superb 272 calling me?
this one for example is a lot quicker to 200 than 22 seconds! mapped?
-
Is a Superb 272 calling me?
ive seen plenty of videos on youtube where they hit 200kph in under 20 seconds - they cant all be tuned?
-
Is a Superb 272 calling me?
yeah, seen that one - but just doesn't appeal without all the extras.

Is a Superb 272 calling me?
would appear the one i missed out one was either priced very low (they offered it to me for £24k) or the ones available now are way over priced. The one i like the look of now is identical spec to the white one i missed out on, a few thousand less miles, but is up for £1700 more, and they can't get anywhere near the monthly cost of what the white one was offered to me for.

Is a Superb 272 calling me?
I’m actually a bit shocked at how quick the 272 is (from YouTube videos of acceleration tests). it hits 60 in about 5.1 seconds and cracks 200kph in about 17-18 seconds. If this is true then they are really quick. The amount of other “fast” medium/large family cars that can’t get near it on the 0-200kph test are surprising.
