  1. Hello My 2020 skoda superb has developed a small fault recently. When i open the boot the 2 boot lights come on fine but the removable torch which doubles as a 3rd boot light now does not come on when the boot is opened. I recently got a towbar fitted at a skoda dealer so i though maybe there was a wire issue. So i checked with the multi metre at the 3 pin connectors that the torch clips into and when the boot is closed it is almost no voltage and when its open i get 12v so i am assuming the wiring is ok. I now suspect it may be the light may be at fault. The torch part of it still works but its the boot light side of it that just does not come on. Should the boot light come on when it gets 12v. I notice there is 3 pin connectors, i am guessing 1 is positive, 1 negative but unsure of the 3rd middle one. Any ideas? Thanks
  2. Hi My skoda superb 2020 1.5 tsi manual has recently stopped going into 2 cylinder mode. As i do very short journeys (2 miles per day) i suspect this has been caused by a low battery. Can a low battery prevent 2 cylinder mode? ( it says in the car "vehicle power comsumption high"). Can anyone recommend a good solar battery maintainer which would be compatible with the car ( possibly charging through the 12v socket?) Also out of interest. Is there any need to take a 1.5 tsi a longer journey every once in a while? Also. I started using shell 99 octane v-power about 2 months ago after previously using 97 octane, could this have caused any change? Advice welcome.
  3. Hi Terry That is interesting to know. I must admit i would prefer a 17 inch spare wheel for my 2020 superb but as i already have a 16 inch i dont see the point in spending the money on a 17 for all the times (if ever) i need to use it. I double checked the size of the spare i have in my octavia that i am going to keep and it is indeed also a 205/55R16. Thanks again Donald
  4. Thanks for the info. I will keep the 16 inch spare from my octavia (the car originally had a repair kit) and leave the original repair kit alone. If it sounds like the new car does not come with a jack i will keep this also from the octavia. Thanks Again
  5. Hello I am interested in buying a Skoda Superb MK3 2020 1.5 tsi SE Technology Manual 6 speed after having a MK3 octavia 2018 1.6 tdi ( I would like to move away from diesels) The car i am looking at has does very low miles, is there anything i should look out for or any known problems with this car i should be aware of? Thanks
  6. I have just thought on 1 more question. Does a skoda superb which comes with a tyre repair kit come with a jack and wheel brace? Thanks again
  7. Hello I am looking at buying a 2020 skoda superb 1.5 tsi se technology 17 inch wheels. It does not come with a spare wheel. I currently have a 16 inch spare from a 2018 skoda octavia mk3 and wonder if the studs are the same so i could use it as a temp spare wheel. Any comments appreciated.
  8. Thanks again for all your replies. Looks like i am going down the route of a 1.5 tsi Superb. We will see.
  9. Hello I have a 2018 MK3 skoda octavia and i am finding it hard to obtain the correct wiper blades. I recently got bosch ones but the connector was to fat to fit in i require a narrower one. The drivers side is 24" and passenger is 18" (NOT 19") The car still has the original blades and the number stamped on the passenger one is 5E2 955 425 A L30193 8340 0933 If anyone could provide a link to where i could get the correct wiper blades this would be much appreciated. Regards Donald
  10. Thanks for the reply's. I have checked the voltage of the battery this morning and it is showing only 12.1 volts which is only about 50% power so this is low for this battery. I think this is what the problem is. I will charge the battery up and see it that solves the problem. Thanks again
  11. Yes this could be what it is. I will check the battery level and go from there. Thanks for the advice
  12. Hello I have a skoda octavia which is a few years old with the 1.6 tdi with ad blue. If i start the car when the temperature is around 1 degrees C the start stop system error and glow plug light come on. If i switch the car off and back on it clears and all is fine. It does do it when warmer but far less often. It only does it about twice a month (sometimes not at all) but i am finding it hard to figure out what could be causing it. The car is below 20000 miles so still low millage. All i can think on is that over the covid 19 pandemic i have only done about 1500 miles in the last year and this may have caused by some sort of carbon build up on a sensor and because the car is not getting good long drives and right up to temperature its not getting a change to burn it off. I do monitor the dpf and allow it to do its regen when required so it cant be this. Hopefully will clear up when i use the car a bit more but has anyone else had this issue?
  13. Thats all good to know. Mine is one of the last ones with ad blue. I think i will keep it for a while yet as see what happens but will consider a 1.0 tsi when the time comes. Thanks
