  1. Apparently no radars need to be installed as the front assist radar will do the job for ACC and even pACC. Only the stalk needs changing which will be a genuine part. Depending on warranty situation, I will probably only do this once my warranty runs out as I value my warranty more than ACC.
  2. Hi all, so an update to this situation. As most of you said the dealer wasn’t able to fit this themselves which was a shame. In fairness to them, they did try to find a way internally to do it but every tech person/department they tried all said no. I did shop around retrofitters and found a someone who can do it at a reasonable price. The dealer has said they’re happy to pay for that amount. I’d say a fair result in the end.
  3. Thanks for the advice. If that’s the price for a retrofit then I will certainly be asking for that in compensation if they cannot do it themselves. If it is going to void the warranty then I will wait another 2yrs before doing it. Regular cruise control is ok enough
  4. I’ll push hard to ensure my warranty remains unaffected if I go via third party or I’d be wanting a far larger compensation. but surely they have the technical know how to do it as what if there was a genuine fault with those modules. They would have to test each one and replace anything faulty including updating any software issues
  5. Really? I would have thought that would have been their first option over any monetary compensation. surely changing a lever and updating the software to recognise it would be fairly simple on their end?
  6. Yep I have regular cruise control only despite paying for the drivers assistance package. I have found the brochure for last year and that package clearly states ACC. I have all the other extras like front assist so I am hoping all of the cameras and radars are there and it won’t be difficult for the dealer to retrofit it. Do you think I can also ask for compensation?
  7. Hi all I ordered a Kodiaq last year which was delivered early October. I included the Driver Assistance Package which I am sure included ACC but this option is not available in the new configuration so I cannot double check. Does anyone know if that package included ACC
  8. I think you can’t select those other options because travel assist includes them already. so i think you made the right choice and you’ll have everything you want
  9. I’m sure you can get traffic jam assist and blind spot detection together. They were together in the driver assistance package last year which appears to be travel assist this year. Also L&K models have blind spot detection as standard and you can separately add the assist package which includes traffic jam assist so it appears doable.
  10. Are the ventilated seats really worth it?
  11. I assume Zac’s updates would be the main ones but there should be a couple of others as well. Did you hear about any others?
  12. Tarraco definitely offers better value but all reviews I’ve seen either state Kodiaq is better than the Sorento or has a higher overall rating. Given how new the Tarraco is, I reckon a lot of those rankings/reviews would place the Tarraco higher now but it’s so close between that and the Kodiaq that it’s fairly irrelevant. My thoughts on those 2 are discussed in another thread. However certainly from what I’ve read recently, the Kodiaq certainly seems the king of 7seat SUVs (car wow/top gear magazine/Parkers/honest John/motorway.co.uk)
  13. All the articles of the new Sorento looks really good. And apparently hybrid/plug in models available as well only add to the appeal. 7 year warranty and a more useable third row could make this the best 7seat SUV and take the Kodiaq’s crown
  14. How do you time this? If you order now and they start building end of July so past build week 30. Do they use your order date so no new features or build date to include the new features? If the latter, then do you know what the average time between order date and build date is?
  15. After seeing both I am more swayed to the Kodiaq. Ignoring the appearance of the 2 as that’s subjective there was a lot of little things that meant I opted for Kodiaq. I found the following things in Tarraco: No passenger electric memory seat in Tarraco Slightly lower leg room in third row Noticeable drop in head room in third row Strange cup holder on right side third row that can’t hold anything Poorer tech in the infotainment No DCC option No sleep or family packages Very bland passenger side cockpit (looked like a standard car from 10 years ago) Generally felt cheaper which ties to above point (if you’re paying 25-30k on a new/newish car, some premium feeling would be nice) I think I am missing a couple of others and all of those points I mentioned are fairly minor in the grand scheme of things to be honest however for me I found I would be giving up a lot by getting the Tarraco. Also, I think Kodiaq depreciates less but haven’t done enough research to confirm. I haven’t decided if the Kodiaq is completely sufficient or whether I need a used Q7. Q7 has 3 decent seats in second row and 2 decent seats with isofix points in the third row. If I want to sell the Kodiaq and buy a used Q7 for an additional 5-10k, I believe I should have lost less money compared with buying a Tarraco.
