If you hold the lock button down for a few seconds after locking then the mirrors fold. Opening is when you start the engine.

I fitted a new battery on Sunday and now my mirrors have stopped folding when I lock the car. My one stop driver window has stopped as well.

It depends where you are. Sat in a factory spec F150 4x4 in traffic, you can see clean over the roof of Land Cruisers RangeRovers and Q7s. They all look so little 😉

I am in Northern Ireland and full fat RR and Land Cruisers are still very big, an F150 would cause a roadblock on some of our roads 🙂.

The LC maybe bland but it is reliable, unlike most Land Rovers,................

  3. I had the 3.2 - 6 speed and thought it would be as comfortable as a normal 4x4, it wasn`t. The longest I drove it was 100 miles and I was knackered.

The Hilux while not as powerful was like a pair of old slippers. It did everything I needed and it was lazy and comfortable. Also i never got stuck off road.

The bed in the back of any pickup is great for feed and hay but nothing long unless you can stick out the back. The back seats are crap and in my case only used for the dogs.

My wee yeti goes off road and will do for now but my plan is to buy a 100 or 200 series Land Cruiser with a V8 diesel, not because i need it but because I like big trucks. 🙂

In our street today a tough looking Ranger and new Defender. I would buy the Ranger if I retire to Kenya.

I Like pickups and had a Hilux and a Ranger.

The Ranger bounced about like a pogo stick and needed a lot of weight in the back to settle it, the Hilux was much more comfortable and wasn`t bouncy.

I would love a drive in the new Defender but wouldn`t be buying one due to all the electrical problems LR`s seem to suffer from.

    I would rather get one of these;

You maybe need to get about more around the countryside and see farmers with New Range Rovers and other rather expensive vehicles.

Or go visit a Land Rover dealership and see the New Defenders prepared for hand over to the new owners.

They might not all tow a Cattle Trailer or horse box with them for work but someone on the farm or in the family will be driving them.

Dominic Cummings is a Slipper Farmer, maybe his father is a farming farmer and there are many the same around the country who are actively getting their income from being Wind Farmers.

Not many farmers over here (NI) buying RR or new Defenders. I am out on farm land every weekend and all I see are L200`s and Rangers.

I hope the new Defender proves more reliable than the Discos.

I did the configurator for a new Defender. Mine came in at over £60k.

TBH if I thought the depreciation wouldn't be too bad I'd be tempted, it's grown on my quite a lot.

Oh and the £2k road tax is pretty offputting too.

    £60k for a Defender 🤯, I can`t see many farmers spending that to get a 4x4.

I think I would wait for a while as I am sure there will be lots of electrical gremlins ready to spoil your purchase.

I know someone who bought a new Disco Sport and the first car was replaced as it was so unreliable and the replacement has allowed him to try out all the dealers loan cars - it has had so many problems.

Not sure about the Aux socket - what did you try to connect to it. As far as the SD card is concerned they are sensitive to the formatting so you might need to reformat the card to readable format, try FAT.  Also I think the 2013 system can only “read" up to 32gb cards - try a search but I am sure someone will come back with a definitive answer!

Thanks I will have a look at the card I used. I thought I could have used Bluetooth to send the music to the head unit but that doesn`t work either.

    Either cd`s or the radio.

  9. I had a search and couldn`t find any information.

    My Yeti is a 2013 110bhp 4x4 Elegance.

I tried the aux socket in the armrest but it doesn`t work, is this a common problem and how do I gain access to it?

Also I tried an SD card but it doesn`t work either, msg reads not able to read it? I would like to use a usb flash drive with my music on it or Spotify.

    Thanks.

    Dave
