  1. That engine looks so good. Does anybody know how much a new engine would cost?
  2. Thanks for the links, I'll add my tale. I'm just going to have to prepare for a big bill. Some friends have said to get rid of it, but there's very little rust and I find it an enjoyable drive, when it runs. There's really not much out there in small 4wd SUVs to compare.
  3. I'm in this boat Skoda Yeti 2010 CDAA 118KW 160HP 1.8TSI.

  5. I was just looking on Haldex Repairs. Pretty sure I have a blocked filter. Skoda dealer serviced the Haldex last year and the fault still shows on my Carista. TBH I only got the Carista when my engine took a dump. Anyway Skoda don't have the Haldex filter, Gen 4 listed as a spare part, even though it shows it on the schematic. So all the y did was change the oil for £69. I'll probably buy filter and oil and see if the pump is still OK.
  6. Hello thanks for having me, New member, just looking for some info to solve my, many, technical issues with my 2010 1.8tsi yeti.
  7. Hi Folks, I'm the owner of a yeti 1.8tsi on a 60 plate, had it 3 years, bought from a non-Skoda dealer in Stockport. It had a 12 month warranty and in the first year of ownership I probably drove 700 miles due to circumstances. The 2nd year I was driving more and noticed that it needed oil every couple of hundred miles. All advice I got was that this was normal in this engine. This month it gave me a Engine Fault! Workshop! Warning as I was driving on the M6 around 3K rpm. Engine became quite rough in it's running. I plugged my Carista OBD dongle and cleared all the faults. The re-occuring fault said Cyl 2 Misfire. Checked the usual suspects of coil packs and spark plugs but the fault persisted. Took it to a local independent VW garage. They said no compression on No.2 cylinder which was a timing issue they said. They couldn't fix it and refereed me to a garage 7 miles away. Instead I took it to a VW Specialist about 4 miles away. They say no compression on 1 & 2 cylinders and they want £260 to strip the head off and check. They also they'll get to it when they have a chance. Sorry for the long winded post, but I'm thinking just replace the engine, with hopefully a reconditioned unit. Where would I find a reputable 1.8TSI engine supplier?
