Looks shiny now!! Ps mature owner?!
  2. Thanks guys I not bothered by the noise, i am aware this is normal till they heat up. Just wondering what options are to get it fixed apart from new parts, but it looking that way.... Cheers G
  3. Morning all Wondering if anyone can give some advice I have noticed a slight grating noise on my brakes for a while, although this goes when they are warm. (Octy vRS) Nothing sinister there I thought. I have then noticed more recently, that the brakes do not seem to clear water on them, one or tow hairy moments on the motorway as brakes did not bite very quickly. When wet, the initial performance is a bit more “uncertain†until it seems they have had time to clear. I.e. After a wash, it now taking ages to clear the brakes when driving. When dry and brakes heated up, they seem to work totally fine, if a little noisy. I have recently looked at the brakes, the pads seem ok, but there is a slight lip on the front left disc, not so much on the driver side. The brakes only have 14k miles on them (dealer fitted) which to me seems far too small amount to be worn discs. driving style not aggresive at all. if anything is the opposite. Any thoughts? I am not a mechanic at all, and loathe to get new ones so early. Thanks Gordon
  4. They were dealer fitted. And don't look glazed. It has been v wet and they do stick, as though water been cleared from them, but even still, not having confidence in your brakes is a worry!
  5. I am having the exact same problem. Pads and discs only about 15k on them. Hoped they would have lasted longer?! May be break fluid but can't get to it to see the level properly!
  6. 16? My original blade was 11 but I had to get new arm fitted by a dealer which was bigger and used a 13 inch at the back now.
  7. Tris, I have the exact problem as you. I noticed the drivers mirror also does not work. Any solutions be greatly appreciated!
  8. I too having same problem, did anyone find a solution? thanks
  9. Mine does the same, I put it down to water always getting in to boot when opening cos of stoopid design of rear. Ensuring always damp inside car somewhere.
  10. Hi my mk1 vrs is a 55 plate. Registered 1st sept 05. Great condition and 100% standard! Rare for on here!
  11. Thanks, will get looked at when next service is due, in about a month or so. much appreciated
  12. All I have posted previous that my vrs drifts to the left when the steering wheel is straight. i can live with that. What i now have is on moving the wheel, even a smallest fraction to the right, there is a very noticeable almost rubbing / groaning noise. This happens only when turn right, but dont even need to be turning to the right just move the wheel, ie car stays in the same lane etc. This is more noticable above 30mph and gets louder as greater the speed when the wheel is moved (moved, rather than actual a turn) Is this sort of noise, likely to be a bearing? Thoughts be appreciated Thank you G
  13. I would make them pay, but thats only because they own a Corsa!!
  14. Can anyone confirm if you need VAG-com to do this? Thanks
  15. Sorry for raising an old thread! Can anyone assist with where these manifold nuts are? Thanks.
