Octavia MK2 1.6 mpi bse fuel pump
Hello guys Yesterday, my fuel pump has died and the reason was a clogged fuel filter. However, I went to the mechanic and he replaced the fuel pump with an 11 bar fuel pump and the fuel filter with a 4 bar filter with pressure regulator. I already know that the operating pressure for my Octavia 1.6 mpi bse engine is 4 bar and the fuel pump pressure should be 4 bar as well. So, I argued with the mechanic about this issue but he convinced me by saying that the pressure regulator will do the job and your fuel rail will have it's required pressure. Nevertheless, the car is working perfectly. Anyone had a problem like this? Is it okay to install a fuel pump with a high operating pressure like what I'm using now? Thanks in advance
