Delivery/lead times
I ordered a Kamiq SE 110 on 17 July. At the time expected delivery was early December, although the dealer suggested in time for Christmas. A week or two ago build week was expected to be next week & perhaps optimistically of me, hoping it will arrive by early December. I would suggest that you ring the dealer & ask for an update. The dealer did say that DSGs were taking longer.

Infotainment screen blank
I think I had the same problem a few weeks ago. The car has been little used for the first months because of lockdowns etc. Only when the rules were eased did I start using it regularly. on the second or third time I used it. I turned the infotainment system on. Nothing apparently happened, although the screen was very slightly lighter than when it was off. It would not switch off or respond to inputs. Around 20 minutes into the journey it suddenly burst into life & has worked faultlessly since. Like Melbury, I came to the conclusion that it was doing an upgrade.

New Car today
As you write dealers have been known to make mistakes. The dealer I use referred to the Speed Limiter as a cruise control on the previous 2 Fabia that I owned! When I got confused about what the the functions were of the Skoda Connect on the SE it became obvious that they knew little more than me - essentially nothing.

New Car today
Now, I am puzzled. At the beginning of October last year I picked up a new Kamiq SE, I believe to be a 2021 model built end of August. That does not have the rechargeable torch in the boot & in the position where I think that the torch is fitted, the trim does not have the fittings, but the location is shown by perforations in the trim. Having said that the Fabia SE estate I had previously, also did not include the fitment, despite being the face lifted model. In both cases I assumed that it was not fitted to UK spec SE models - or perhaps its hit & miss. Fortunately I am not too bothered, as a torch in the glove box is handier for use in emergencies.

New Car today
I picked up a new SE at the beginning of October. It too does not have the removable torch in the boot, it's location appears to be a continuation of the surrounding moulding with perforations along the outline. I assumed that it was a feature of the SEL. There is a 'normal' boot light. Another thing that has changed is that the little pockets on the inside of the front seat have also gone. These were handy to keep a radio scanner in. The pockets on the back of the seat are still present.

Kamiq Is It For You
In respect iof wheel spin. Many years ago I had a new Audi A4 Avant. This, if I remember correctly was before the days of traction control. It used to regularly spin its wheels from start off, it took great control to prevent it. After around 6 months I realised the front tyres were wearing unevenly. I then had the garage check the geometry & hey presto the problem was solved. I am absolutely no expert, unlike many here, but it might be worth trying to get the garage to check.

Fabia MPI 75. Too slow?
To add to my missive, in view of Korculas posting, I should point out that the car is usually driven one up & only some photographic gear [inc tripod] in the boot. Pretty light therefore. On the few occasions it has been more heavily loaded I confess to not having noticed much difference - perhaps I wasn't thinking about it.

Fabia MPI 75. Too slow?
If I may, as an owner of a Fabia MPI 75 estate & previously owned a Fabia MPI 75 hatch put in my experience. It all depends on how you drive. It is not a ball of fire. If in 5th gear you are looking to overtake & change down to 4th thinking to rapidly accelerate, you will probably notice very little extra acceleration, down to 3rd you might get something. I live in Cheshire & my normal route takes me to the Wirral. That journey involves some town driving, a fair amount of country roads & a fair chunk of motorway it also includes a long steepening hill. In general the car is capable, without stress, of keeping up with traffic. Nowadays virtually all of the country roads are covered by 50mph limits. Kelsall Hill requires entering at the maximum permissible speed[70mph], but if not baulked it will, in 5th gear keep up with & be faster than many vehicles on the hill usually reaching the top at around 65mph. If however the speed drops away for whatever reason, you will not get it back, even changing down to 3rd. It will happily cruise on the motorway at 70mph &it keep up with town traffic Driven with foresight & anticipation it is in todays speed controlled roads, perfectly acceptable. It is not the engine for someone wanting to overtake by going for gaps in traffic, or tear away from the lights. The computer says on such trips that it is giving me 53-54mpg - it lies. From experience it is less, probably around 50mpg - but from that I think you can judge that I do not flog the engine.
