  1. TPMS on the Octy doesn’t have wheel mounted sensors mate. The ABS system monitors wheel rotation speeds and if/when a tyre deflates that wheel's speed will increase in comparison to the others; and this will trigger the TPMS to pipe up with a tyre pressure loss warning
  2. I’m dropping suspension (h&r springs 30mm rear 50mm front) and fitting 15mm wheel spacers all round shortly and will definitely be having wheel alignment and tracking done after that
  3. Don’t worry about clogging up the thread; fire away with anything related or non related as far as I’m concerned
  4. 5% limo tint rear screen and 20% tints down the sides mate. Full glass out install so no nasty edges on show when the windows down. Originally I planned on 5% limo on the sides as well but the chap who did them for me talked me out of it and I’m glad he did; with hindsight I think 5% would be far too dark all round. Fronts will probably be next after lowering springs are delivered and fitted. 70% is the legal limit for front sides so I’ll be going for that, and a nice blue chameleon tint on the front windscreen which gives 78% (75% legal limit)
  5. Even better tip; have your best mate be a mechanic 😉 👍🏻. His labour costs tend to be alcoholic 😂
  6. Got them ordered. £180 which I thought is a good price. Can’t wait to get them on
  7. Got on to H&R and the part number they gave for the 4x4 is 28833-4; which drops the front 50mm and the back 30mm. To be honest I’ll be happy with that. As much as I’d love to have her sat lower than a slugs belly on coilovers I’ve been reminded (quite forcibly) by the other half that it’s supposed to be a “practical family car”. Which I think loosely translates to: she wants to fill the boot up with **** all the time 😂
  8. Mine are 18 x 8 GMP Italia Dea which are about 1 kg heavier than the Gemini’s I think. I certainly can’t tell any difference at all but it’s an extra 4kg; who would?
  9. Hi everyone. I stumbled across some Stanced Coilover kits whilst trawling the internet for lowering options for my Octy III. Originally planned on just going with lowering springs (H&R 40mm seems to be the general consensus amongst most of you) but was managing to get myself fairly confused as to which springs would and wouldn’t fit my 2.0tdi vRS 4x4. Anyway as said I came across these Stanced coilovers. Front lowering range 30mm-65mm. Rear 30-60mm. A kit specifically for the 4x4. And only £269.99. Blimey. “Too good to be true?” I wondered. And that leads me to ask: does anyone here have any knowledge of, or experience with, a Stanced coilover kit? And if so what are your pros and cons? Opinions? Thoughts? Recommendations? Reviews? Are they actually a decent buy or should they be avoided at all costs? Etc. Etc. Any input on the matter would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  10. New rims have arrived from wheelbase, wrapped in fresh Vredestein Ultrac Satins. Hopefully find time to get them fitted tomorrow; back in work Sunday so if not tomorrow it won’t til next weekend. What do you think of them? And what rims are you rocking? #getyourrimsout #riskyhashtag 😨🤣
  11. Haha thanks mate; I did my wife’s (thankfully much smaller) corsa D after this as well so...give you a shout when my arms no longer feel like falling off? 😂
  12. Been on here since mid July so thought I should add myself to the register. Bought my first Skoda earlier this year and instantly fell in love with her. Octavia III vRS Combi 2.0tdi 4x4. Perfect balance for me between being a sensible family bus alongside plenty of poke for a bit of a hoon when I want it. Great spec car; black pack, winter pack (I’m up ridiculously early for work most days and those heated seats and front windscreen are a God send) with one previous lady owner and just over 24,000 miles when I got hold of her. Only thing I really wish it had was folding mirrors but hey I’m happy. Plenty of modding plans in the works too including a stage one remap just for that little bit extra grunt

  14. She’s pre facelift mate so I’ll go with 15s all round. Heard of people with 20mm at the rear but not sure it really needs that much personally
  15. I’m thinking of 15mm spacers all round trip my octy. I think that and a set of 40mm H&Rs (following the advice) will enhance her stance perfectly
  16. The superb looks horny as **** with the tints done and roof box on mate 😍👌🏻
  17. I wasn’t aware of that to be honest pal. So to confirm: Skoda don’t lower the 4x4, but I wouldn’t have any issues fitting aftermarket lowering springs? How strange
  18. Thanks mate 👍🏻. That’s good to know; I want her sitting lower but still want to be able to load her up fully without any issue
  19. Looking to lower my octy III combi vRS 4x4 and hoping someone can point me in the best direction for which lowering springs I should go for. Seen lots of chatter about the pros and cons of H&R vs. Eibach; and input and advice would be much appreciated, as would any links 👍🏻. Same applies for wheel spacers; hoping to run 15mm all round but again open to advice/recommendations/links. Thanks in advance!
  20. Both of these turtlewax products are the dog’s danglies. Affordable and great results 👍🏻👌🏻
