  1. Does anyone know what 19s this VRS is wearing? I like the design of these.
  2. Think that ship has sailed sadly.
  3. Ahhh yes, hadn't thought of the bus, thanks. Just looked and it's about 50 minutes and only runs every 2 hours but it at least runs on a bank holiday! You're quite right, the car is from Meadens. Have you used them? They seem very professional so far.
  4. I'll certainly give them a go but, if I'm honest, I'm not a huge fan of the design. I might learn to love them.
  5. Hi, they are being refurbished so should be in very good condition. I've attached a pic above showing the colour and why they are being refurbished! Not sure on the tyre condition as yet but am told will have at least 3mm as per the Skoda Approved terms.
  6. Hi all, put a deposit down on a VRS today, very happy with the spec apart from the 19 xtreme alloys which aren't to my taste personally. Has anyone gone from the 19s to 18 gemninis, or vice-versa? If so, how did you find it and what differences did it make? Anyone thinking of swapping from 18s to 19s then let me know haha. Really looking forward to picking the car up but I have to work out how to get to Southampton to Brockenhurst on a bank holiday Monday when the trains aren't running 🙂 At least I can get to Southampton from South Wales I suppose!
  7. Good point. Have read about the DSG being hesitant at low speeds or not giving quick downchanges? True or road tester nonsense? I'd like to try the both but not easy to go for test drives with social distancing measures in place at the moment.
  8. Thanks for the DSG comments guys. 90% of my driving would suit the DSG but it's the 10% where I get to enjoy myself that is holding me back from going for it. Which is daft as it's about 2:1 in favour of DSG on the open market, plus no clutch worries if I remap...
  9. Looks in great condition. How are you finding the DSG? I'm not sure whether to go for a manual or DSG when I get one.
  10. Thanks for the info. I'd definitely leave this job to the professionals! £700 all in doesn't seem too horrific but it'd be cheaper and easier to buy one with them already fitted.
  11. Does anyone know if it's possible to fit OEM front parking sensors to a VRS that only has rears? And if so, how much would I be looking at? Cheers
  12. £700-£800 all in! Ouch. Oh well, seems every car has its weakness. Another thought, my wife really likes front parking sensors. I do too if I'm honest as we live on a narrow lane that makes turning in and out of the driveway a pain. Is it possible to retrospectively fit front parking sensors and have them coded into the display?
  13. Thanks both, a stage 1 map had definitely crossed my mind. How much is a water pump change? Once had a 3 series and the part alone was £350 minimum, £800 from the dealer.
  14. Hi all, considering a vRS manual estate as my next family wagon, preferably on 18" wheels, but have a few questions. 1. Am I right in thinking it has the gen 3 EA888 and therefore doesn't have the timing chain issues of earlier generations of this engine? 2. Are there any known faults for this version of the vRS? 3. Were front parking sensors ever standard or just an option? 4. What other options are worth seeking out in your opinion? 5. Do all variants have Android Auto or Bluetooth audio so I can stream from my phone and use the steering wheel controls to change tracks etc? I think that's it for now. Thanks in advance for your help. Phil
  15. Hello all from a sunny Wales. I don't currently own a Skoda but am looking to buy a mk3 Octavia vRS in the future (petrol and manual). Cheers.
