Hi all, I was given a quote for my Rapid 2016 spaceback.. It needs new tyres, oil service and breaks service. And the garage gave me a £1697 quote. Which seems insanely expensive. So I dodged the bullet and started researching the prices. And to my shock a disk can be hd for 20-40 pounds. A set of pads the same. The garage was quoting 170 for the same. Ny question is, how do I reliably identify the type of disks I need for the front? For the back the information is in my booth, on that sticker that is near the tyre reserve. But I can;t find anything for the front. Is really calling a dealer with VIN the only way? Thank you., Kris

I forgot to add - I am quite confused by this weird item (should I call it FakeColumbusTM?) showing up all over the internet. It is kind of similar visually to the RCD300 - a really old design language with cheap chrome embelishment. And also CD player? I don't want/ need a CD player 🤷‍♂️.

Hi all, I've got a Skoda Rapid Se L Tdi manufactured in 2016. It has a Swing infotainment system (I think ..pls. see attached photo). The car is great, except the missing built in navigation system. I want to upgrade the infotainment system to: - largest possible color screen (idealy with capacitive touch) - keep all the existing features accessed via the Swing screen intact - wireless iOS CarPlay connection - back camera nice, but not essential I do not want - physical media playback (DVD or whatver old stuff) - media unit retrofitted - built -in maps updated via some SD cards What are my options? Do I have to have the media unit retrofitted in order to satisfy my requirements? Ir is a viable option to have the asian RCD330+? It's front with the chrome edge and knobs looks a bit dated tbh. Or do I have no choice but to go for the top solution - the Columbus?

Hi All, I am Kris and I own a dark orange Skoda Rapid 2016. I'd say even after one year, as a very happy owner, I am fascinated by this model and I always wonder why it was a comercial failure. For me as somebody who is waaay past any kind of young excitement about tweaking, racing..all the stuff younger people care about (I did as well)..this is the most unassuming modern car on UK roads. I am 100% sure nobody will ever steal it. The highlight is the boot which fits 2 medium sized bicycles. And I also moved house with it during COVID lockdown!!! doing around 30 rounds and using it as as a pickup. There's a few things I miss, like a full-color navigation...and perhaps seating adjustment memory similar to OCtavia L&K..and a few other minor things but it's overal a tremedous value for money. And in terms of user experienc,e it is MUCH closer to OCTAVIA than FABIA.
