  1. I double checked the fuse layout and found that there is an fuse for the radio under the hood. Don't know how i missed it earlier... Fuse was burnt and a new fuse got my stream rocking again. However I looked at the aftermarket head units and maybe i will do the upgrade. I was looking at kenwood dmx5020bts. Anyone recommend this?
  2. Hi! I was trying to install match pp62dsp to my "new" mk2 octavia. I had it in my previous mk3 octavia and it was good, so I thought I should try it in this car too... Should have not tried because the sound was just fine with the stock setup. I plugged the thing in and tested it before I tried to put the head unit back in its place and it was working. The battle for getting the head unit to it's hole was bloody and i lost it as there was not enough space behind the head unit. I thought to leave it hanging loose until tomorow and to test the sound with the amp but the head unit won't power up. Not even without the amp's wire harness. The fuse behind the head unit seems to be ok. So it seems i broke the head unit when trying to get it into it's place. So what is the best thing to do now, buy new stream mp3 if i find somewhere? Is it just plug in and play or do I need to code it or something? Or do you have some recommendations for a aftermarket head unit? Or are they a pain in the butt to install? I'm not really good with these so the easiest is the best solution here
  3. Yes, resonated system. Deadening helped a bit for me. Before I did that, it almost sounded like you're inside a booming metal barrel or something. And the road noise is quieter now of course. Yeah, i'll definitely check that when i get access to the lift. Funny enough, some days this boom seems to be quieter. Maybe it's just that the pipe positioning is different and temperature differences etc.
  4. Hi guys! My first post to this forum! I have this system fitted to my 230 fl estate and I'm having some problems with annoying boomy and bassy drone and resonances in low rpm (maybe 1500-3000rpm). It gets really bad when the exhaust gets properly hot on a long trip. You can hear it basically all the time, even on flat road but on a uphill or acceleration... . On the outside the sound is very nice, but I was very surprised with the cabin noise. I'm still hoping that it's just because something is not right and I can get rid of it. I have already added sound deadening to boot floor, sides (not wheel arches), boot lid and under the rear seats. Piping should not be touching anywhere (going to check this third time when I have chance to lift the car). If I remember, the y-section looked like it's a bit close to the heat shield on the spare wheel well, maybe it expands too close to it when hot. I even tried wrapping the exhaust to the fake tips to get the sound away from under the car (this made a minor difference). Saw the trick in some Kia Stinger forum as they have fake tips too. And for the hanger, I got a hanger from my old Saab 9-3 lying around so it found itself a new home. Do you guys have any tips or tricks to share?
