  1. Revitalizing this topic with a small question. Is there anyone that equipped the roof with the Thule xt motion xxl model? I am interested to aquire this model of roof box but I want to make sure it's not too big. Don't get me wrong, I want to have all the space I need and those 610 liters will come in handy, but I wanna know for sure if it will fit. The car is equipped with the wingbar edge bars (lower ones). Many thanks for your input.
  2. Hi guys, I have a question regarding this firmware update. A friend of mine did something similar for a bolero head unit and the main reason he did the update was because he was told that the sound quality would be greatly improved. And so it did. I asked around and from the feedback I received, if I do this update, it will greatly improve the sound quality of my Columbus Mib2 to even sound better that the basic Canton unit. It's something regarding some parameters update or so. Do you know from your experience if these 2 aspects (firmware update and sound quality) are related?
  3. Yes, 128GB is more than enough, I think I'm going to use this setup after all.
  4. What's the maximum capacity for an SD card that the unit will accept? I just updated the navigation using a 32gb card, any higher will still work?
  5. Any chance to multiply that single USB port into at least 2? So I can benefit from carplay and still have the SSD connected in the same time? Or if there is an SD to USB adapter in order to plug the SSD into the SD slot inside the glove box? Sounds science fiction, I know 😀
  6. Hey Octavia 3 owners. Any ideas if I can successfully connect and play media from this 500 GB SSD I have from Samsung? Sadly I won't be able to benefit the carplay apps in the same time, but still I would like to know if possible. Thanks for your opinion
  7. Frank, very good observation. With kessy, key în my pocket, pressning the boot Lid button, the trunk opens normally, without any issues what so ever. I activated from obd11 the trunk closing from the key button and it also works flawlessly. The only problem remains while trying to open from the key button.
  8. Does anyone knows what these options do? I have Diesel webasto mounted on my car and can start it by pressing the dash button, program it to start at a chosen time, or start it using the remote control. All good until now. But when entering the air condition settings, I saw these options that made me wonder regarding the "automatic" settings. Air care, I guess it should detect the air quality and start by itself when there's a need. But what does the automatic auxiliary heater or the windshield? Does it starts also automatically if the temperature goes below a certain point? Or it is not referring to the diesel heater and it's pointing to something else, like the electric heater that kicks in below 7 degree Celsius ?
  9. Yes, but why is it working ok at the second try?
  10. I even have an error în obd11. Any ideas?
  11. I had the same issue two years ago on a passat b6, only it was warm on the driver side and cold o the passenger side. I tried everything I could try by myself, resetting the flaps from the climatronic button combination, that did not helped. Then a friend of mine told me that it's possible that the ventilation flaps located under the dashboard on passenger side is stuck, so I bought a brand new one. That also did not solved the issue. Later on, I discovered that I was loosing coolant, but without seeing anything under the car, so I took the car to a service and they discovered that the heater core pipes were twisted and the heater core was blocked or something. Its location was new the pedals on the left side. After they changed it, problem was solved. So I would suggest that you check the floor near the pedals and see if you find leakage there, thenthe heater core would be the next thing to check.
  12. Hi guys, I didn't want to open a new topic since my query is somehow also regarding the trunk / boot lid. How do you guys open the trunk using the remote control? If I press once short, nothing happens. If I press once longthe lid opens, maybe 10 cm and then closes afterwards and I have to keep pressing a second time to have it opened full. I don't think if this is the way to open it, am I missing something, or its a faulty unit somewhere? I did a video on it for you to see: Thank you in advance for your opinion
  13. Yes, most probably. Meanwhile, I contacted the Skoda dealer and they've told me that there was an issue at some point with these buttons and they were replaced under the warranty. They told me I have to bring the car and they will replace it with another button. I feel better now, knowing that this is not a single user issue, so to say.
  14. Yes, that was the first thing I did, but the problem remains :(
  15. Hello everyone, Glad to finally find such a huge community with so much information on Skoda cars. I recently bought a skoda octavia 3 from 2017 2L DSG 4X4 184 HP which I'm very proud of. The car came with the keyless system for doors and ignition and like the other car I have (Audi A4) I was under the impression that the engine start procedure would be the same. But it seems not or for sure I have a problem. Its like the ignition button won't listen to my actions and sometimes I have to press the start button several times for the engine to finally kick in. The same is happening when trying to shut the engine off.no matter how long or quickly I press the darn button, most of the times, nothing happens. I even did a short lip o the issue, maybe some of you guys had this problem previously and can guide me towards the resolution of it, what parts should I buy or what would be the best approach? Looking forward to your ideas and many thanks in advance
