Thanks. What format do you use and which partition option? Also how do you transfer the music?

Thanks for your suggestion. I have used the Apple Disk Utility to format in ExFat and the car says it is unable to read the SD Card.

Thanks for your help. It is ExFat format but this was done with the Mac. I have no other way to format.

I have all my music in iTunes these days and they are on my iMac. I would like to tranfer most of my music and all of my playlists to a 128GB SanDisk. I have tried a while ago and never managed to get the car to see the disk or read it.

I have had my Superb for nearly 2 years and have tried on a number of occasions to use SD cards to provide the source for my music. I have managed with my iPod through the USB port but that does not provide some of the facilities that I should be able to access via the Columbus' 2 SDs. I have read that the capacity of the SD may be limited but I cannot substantiate this and have tried 128GB and 32GB versions. I have also tried different formats on the SD to no avail. Please can someone point me in the right direction. Ideally I would like to have my entire iTunes' collection of about 100GB but will settle for less.

I had to change mine a few months ago. I use a very competitive local source and can confirm you must have the battery coded to the car. I changed from the original type to an AGM on their advice. It cost me nearly £200. I was amazed the car needed a new battery so soon as my BMWs have lasted 8-10 years. Apparently the auto stop start knackers them quite quickly. nice little earner for battery and starter motor manufacturers!

My Superb 280 is now 4.5 years old and I bought it from someone who had paid for a service package. It had one major service remaining. It took six months of communication (actually non communication from Skoda) to finally transfer the service to me having been told by the sales and service boss in Chesterfield that it was not transferable. To the point, the major service was done whilst I waited and after about 45 minutes I was asked if I wanted a long list of extra items to be included. Plugs, filters, brake pads, tyres (they were all 6mm+, wipers etc.. I was amazed that the MAJOR service was basically an oil and filter change and a free car wash. My advice is to use a good local independent garage and buy a separate warranty if you really want one. All main dealers are a rip off. Don't forget that the manufacturers can no longer invalidate a warranty becaus you used an independent but you may had to stick to genuine spares.

I have a 4 year old Superb 280 Sportline and I inherited a prepaid major service from the previous owner. The dealer told me it was not transferable but it is although it has taken nearly 6 months to achieve this. It needed an oil service and inspection after 25k miles and this is a major service so I thought that is good but the service consists of an oil and filter change an air filter change and a wipe down with a cloth! everything else is extra. I was advised to change the plugs - extra, change the brake fluid - extra and various other things that would have incurred a huge bill. I will change the plugs myself if necessary and any other work can be done by my local mechanic for half the price! How long do the OEM plugs last? The modern premium ones are OK up to about 40k miles.

The battery is an EFB version 69AH. The charger is an Autocharge 650HF. I bought it on the back of Auto Express’ recommendation. In there test they make no mention of EFB or AGM batteries which I find surprising. The Sealey instructions mention conventional batteries and their website lists a few charges for intelligent versions. There is no warning anywhere about possible damage. As I type the charger is 10 hours into a Recon cycle so I have my fingers crossed. Thanks again for all the information.

Thank you very much for such comprehensive advice. I am in the process of charging but have used the negative terminal so hopefully I have not done any long term damage. Charging for more than 18 hours is impossible currently but does it have to be continuous? I have a Sealey charger with a reconditioning mode. Do you think that is worth a try!

I have a March 2017 Superb estate Petrol 280 4x4. Only 23000 miles but has let me down a couple of times recently. It does give you a warning that the 12v voltage is low but in my experience it then won’t start! Had it checked but the specialist was not sure if OK or not. Had 7 BMWs on the trot and they have all lasted 8+ years so 4 does not seem good. I am told the type of battery it use requires programming which costs extra on top of a hefty battery price. I am going to visit my local specialist when they have the model in stock as they are like hens teeth. They will check my alternator before replacing the battery.

I bought my Superb Sportline 280 a couple of months ago and soon tried to load my music library in to the system on an SD Card. I did some research and understood that older models were limited to relatively small capacity SDs but series 3 models can handle up to 128GB. Sounded great as I have about 80GB of music to store so bought a SanDisk 128GB SD. I have now tried every format and partition option I can find but the system will not recognise the SD. I have the option of using an iPod but I really would like to use that elsewhere. SanDisk have not helped so can anybody else? If you have some ideas please also consider whether it is possible to transfer the playlists as well? I have tried a 2GB SD and the system sees that. I am amazed the manual does not have more details.

Thanks. I am now in my 74th year so I have not planned to join any "drifting clubs" so my experience to date leaves me very happy with the set up. I might try the "Launch" option when the roads dry out!!

I have recently bought a 3 year old 280 Sportline Estate with 4 wheel drive. Firstly, it is a brilliant car in every respect and an absolute bargain. I have had several 4 x 4 cars in the passed from very quick Sierra Cosworths through various SUVs to BMW X5 and 3 series models. I have a strong preference for more power to the rear wheels so I have been interested to explore the power delivery of this Superb. Living next to the Peak District I have had the opportunity to play in the snow recently and I am baffled by the way this 280+ car handles. According to articles I have read the Haldex 4 wheel drive system is biased to the front wheels but that is not my experience. With plenty of poke to play with my car is certainly delivering most power to the rear wheels. Never at any time has it felt like front wheel drive. This suits me fine as a bit of tail out fun is great even in such a big car but could it be my system is not working properly. Today I was able to drive around without any problems when many others were getting stuck but can someone tell me how the Haldex on this car apportions the grunt?
