We are looking forward to owning our first Skoda. After owning an Opel Astra a few years back we were highly impressed with the engine technology available from European car manufacturers. They seem to be able to achieve really good fuel consumption with good performance and that stiff and "solid" feel when driving.  Here in NZ there are lots of good quality winding roads through amazing country with hardly any traffic (like what you see on car adverts) that are an invitation to really experience the joy of driving.
