  1. I must admit that when they serviced my Octavia they were good, Tony the service advisor is pleasant enough.
  2. You can just walk in and book the car in. If you're willing to go to an independent, Wirral Car Care or Unit 20, both in Neston, have an excellent reputation.
  3. In that the gears/throttle response just remain normal? Does the orange light come on as well? On mine when you select 'Eco' or 'Sport' the drive mode button illuminates orange. If it always indicates that it has changed to sport mode, but just refuses to do so, maybe a software issue? Or something is blocking it - although I am not sure whether the car defines parameters to change to sport mode, this is only based on the fact that the car wont engage cruise if certain seemingly unrelated faults (e.g. a brake light is out, apparently) are registered.
  4. I rejected a used car I bought through Lookers, similar thing, it spent 2 weeks out of the first 4 sitting in the garage. It pays to strike in that initial 30 day period. Email the letter to the principal or whoever he asks you to send it to, drop off all the documents for the car you're rejecting and hand them their courtesy car back. Try to take a debit card refund as they'll mess about sending a cheque otherwise.
  5. A gentle reminder about the Consumer Rights Act 2015 could be in order, if it is less than 6 months since you bought it, the fault is presumed to have existed at the point of sale, unless the seller can prove otherwise. Similarly, no private individual buys a car from a trader at around 3 years old with a warranty on it and then expects a £500 bill to be presented to them within 3 months. Whilst the seat cover and structure isn't covered, you could argue that the mat is an electrical component that is housed within the seat structure, but ultimately it is a separate component that is part of the HVAC system in the vehicle - which I would expect is covered under the warranty.
  6. My thoughts exactly - they're infamous for being bad! They do seem to have a strategy of pricing cars as the lowest in the country.
  7. It could be an air lock somewhere, that is slowly working its way out. If it is an air lock, over time the level will stabilise.
  8. @e-Roottoot - Only a couple of weeks so it is still under the '30-day no quibble guarantee', I tried the Skoda dealer first as it is at the end of my street. I will try the selling garage tomorrow and see how I get on.
  9. @e-Roottoot - I had a good look around it but I guess having sat in the drivers seat I just thought it was fine! @fletch71 - Thats not so good, I will let you know if I get any success having it replaced.
  10. Thanks @e-Roottoot - I think so too, I still think I will get the seat fixed under the guarantee offered by the dealer that supplied it (it was a car supermarket), I just could not think of why the base foam would break up. I am happy with the car, the rest of it is unmarked and it was the lowest price in the UK in the end so I can't complain!
  11. I am not sure - I have to be honest I have no idea how cars are adapted, I do know that it had hand controls fitted. That could be the case, I just need to have an idea of what could have caused it to argue it with the supplying dealer.
  12. Its the first - the car was on motability, the person was a wheelchair user, had it 6 months and unfortunately it looks like they passed away. My concern isn't the bolster it is the foam that makes the base 'plump', surely regardless of the weight of the person sat on it it wouldn't break up.
  13. Hi all, I am new to the forum, and recently bought a 2019 Octavia SE. It has covered roughly 8800 miles, and is tidy inside and out. There is one strange problem, in that the drivers seat base foam appears to be breaking up. It has been to the dealer who said bolster wear wouldn't be covered under the warranty, not too surprising, however the foam in the base (where you actually sit), seems to be turning to dust, which was what my concern was. You can see that the stitching does not have the defined indents where in cars on higher milage they are. Has anybody had this before? I have tried to search for it but turn up a blank - plenty of topics on bolster wear but not about the base. I have tried to illustrate what I am talking about in the pictures, and the 'grains' that you can see in the footwell carpet.
