  1. Hi guys, The lock key on the key fob apparently stopped working. The open and boot buttons still work, so it's not a battery issue. Tried with my spare key, and the same problem occured. Had to manually lock the car with the keyblade. When turning the electronics up in the car I get a orange warning signal and message that says the car need to go the repairs (thats it, no explanation or error codes). I'm thinking it must be related to the key fob/central locking mechanism. Before this happened I got a low battery warning on the same day followed by the car turning complety off in order to save battery life. Could this be related somehow? I've read on this forum that on the Fabia Mk2 it is a known issue that the key fob and the locking mechanism doesn't always play together well. The solution was to have the diodes retro-fitted on the locking system inside the door panels. An easy fix apperantly but I find it strange that the Mk3 has been born with a similar problem. I still have the car under warranty so I will call Skoda tomorrow and update this thread with their potential solution or explanation for this issue.
  2. I finally managed to find the right rim and the perfect tires (Continental Wintercontact TS 860) for this cold season. Had to look under many rocks in order to find it, but the research paid off. thank you for your replies. I really learn A LOT about my car (and cars in general) on this forum.
  3. Hi guys, I've been spending a lot of time researching for new winter tires for my Fabia Combi/estate 1.2 TSI (110) DSG and finally found a decent set of tires. The problem though is finding the right combination of rims that correspond to the wheel size. Currently my summer tires are 215/45 R16 and according to the manufacture details regarding my model I should use 7Jx16 ET46 5x100 for rims. According to online tire/rims dealers, when searching for rims that matches my car, I get different 'ET' offset eg. 38, 40, 45, but rarely 46. I'm quite new to the world of cars, but is it okay to use a different 'ET' value and what is the acceptable 'ET' deviation from what Skoda suggest, if any? Thank you
  4. Thx for the welcome and the pointer towards the solution.
  5. I have the model 5Q0035840B, so the video chip is present. When I search on google for rear cameras I find find a lot of cheap and alternative solutions that doesn't utilize the Bolero system. So can you point me in direction of rear cameras that actually works with the bolero system? Or should I just visit my local Skoda dealership?
  6. Hi all, Bought my first car back in september, Skoda Fabia Combi (2017), as the bicycle just wasn't enough for me and my wife when we got two small kids. Skoda has always been on my wishlist and i'm planning to upgrade to Octavia in the future and hopefully a Suberb when the kids has moved out and the gray hair has started to show. So the timeline with Skodas in my life is all planned out Sidenote: I'm a IT professional, so the first thing I will use briskoda to explore is of course the infotainment system and how I can flash the newest firmware version on my Bolero system. Have a good day everyone!
