Superb 2016 Estate Diesel 2.2. My exhaust emissions control system light has just come on. I gave it a 25 min run up the motorway, but still on. My local garage can’t see it until 3 weeks. Is it ok to drive still, or could I do some damage to the engine. Thanks.

Thanks for replies. There is no usb socket on my system unfortunately. It has Skoda multi media written on it, if that’s what you mean by the head unit. Thanks again.

Apologies for second post on the same subject, but first poet didn’t have full title, so thought some people might have missed it. There are some portable Bluetooth cd players around for about £40.00. Just wondered if anyone has tried these in their Superb. My iPhone works fine on Bluetooth in my car, so can’t see why these cd players wouldn’t, but would be interested in anyone who might have tried one of these portable Bluetooth cd players. I really miss my cd player and have recently seen portable Bluetooth cd players for around £40.00. Just wondered if anyone has tried these, and if they do actually work on Bluetooth. Many thanks for all replies. Just drove half a mile down the road and all cleared. With the vid/obd11 to program the new battery. Assume I have to take it to a dealer to do this? Where there would obviously be a charge, is it important to get it done? Thanks again all, I was a bit concerned!

I’ve just fitted a new battery on my Superb business diesel estate 2016. I checked about radio code on this forum, it doesn’t have one, and radio working fine. However, lots of warning symbols and things not working. Tyre loss indicator. But says “tyre loss currently unavailable “ when I try to reset it. Park pilot not available. (Never used it anyway) Front assist not available. Warning symbol for “power steering/steering lock/kessy system. Error ACC. Error Autohold. And probably more! So not sure what I’ve done, is it something that needs re-setting maybe? Any help gratefully received. Tim.

Thanks for quick replies. The manual that came with the car says it’s a “Amundsen and/or Bolero” infotainment system which does relate to the radio I have. So going by that it must be the original radio, which doesn’t need a code then if I replace the car battery by what you are saying. Thanks again, Tim.

I’m about to replace the battery on my 2016 Superb Business Diesel Estate. Just wondered if the car has a radio code which I will need, if it does, I can’t find it in any of my paperwork that came with the car. So asking if it has a radio code? Thanks , Tim.

I left it at the garage so didn’t see what the tester said. The garage just rang me up and told me it was a glow plug.

Many thanks for replies. Managed to get it into a local garage. It was a glow plug that needed replacing which they did. Diagnostic test £62.50 labour £45.83 Glow plug £17.44. VAT £25.15 Total £150.92 Not sure if this is is expensive for the job or not, however as I needed the car, and didn’t feel safe driving it with the amber light on, I was happy to pay this, especially as they did it the same day.

My exhaust emissions control system light has just come on. My car is business 2016 superb diesel. I put in some Redex Diesel System cleaner the other day, not sure if this is related or not. Just had a good drive on a motorway to see if the light would come off, bit it hasn’t. No noticeable drop in power. I guess I will have to take it to a dealer, in the mean time, is it safe to drive? Fair point, and like you say if I can send it back if it’s not suitable then worth a try. I do miss the cds though, and my car is when I listen to most of my music and I know it’s old school but I’ve always done it and quite happy to do it, if I can.

Thanks for all replies. I have the enclosed in the glove box, but no cd slot. Is there anyway I can get a cd player fitted? I’m not necessarily after a cd changer, just something that would play single cds. However, I had a Peugeot estate once that had a cd changer in the boot compartment, not sure if that’s an option or not.

I have a 2016 Superb SE business TDI diesel estate. It does not have a cd player, which I really miss, as still a bit old school! Is it possible to get one fitted does anyone know please. Thanks in advance.

Just an update. Did put a sheet of cardboard under the engine after a car journey and no drips. Also been monitoring the level, which has stayed the same. So can only assume it was an airlock as suggested. Many thanks for the advice given here, I was panicking to start with. It shows these forums work. Cheers, Tim

Hi All, I had a new cam belt and water pump fitted by a Skoda garage a couple of weeks ago, here in Southampton. Yesterday, the cooliant level warning light came on, had a look and the level was below the minimum level. Topped it up yesterday, and the level does seem to have moved slightly. Is it possible that it’s something the garage hasn’t done correctly, or just a coincidence that it’s happened just after the cars been in. My superb is 2016. Thanks, Tim.

Hi, Took car back to where I bought it from, very helpful which I was pleasantly surprised at! They took the bumper off and put a load of sealant where they thought the water was coming in. (They couldn't see where it was coming in). Took it home, next lot of rain, leaked again. Took it back, again very helpful, took bumper off and more sealant in, they said they still couldn't see where it was coming in which was very frustrating for them they said, but for me to take it away and try again. That has now cured the leak, so all sorted by the garage at no cost to me, which I was very happy with. Tim

On my Superb 2016 diesel estate SE business class this the alarm has gone of the past two nights. Two nights ago at 1am then half an hour later. Then last night about the same time, I then left the car unlocked the rest of the night. Never had this problem before. I do carry gardening equipment around so could be insects in car I guess, but strange same time it went off. Could it be just because of the hot weather? Is there a way of turning the alarm off? Thanks for replies. If I get the proper stuff with the paint code, will it cover the large area which I rubbed down with cif, where it is dull, to make it shiney again?
