Which Garmin camera do you use? My son has bought and returned 2 cameras that would not power from the mirror port. Halfords said they would hardwire their Nexbase cameras, but I really just want to use the supplied usb c port

I have an SEL with optional rear wiper. The rear wiper can be switched on by using the right hand stalk and comes on automatically if raining and reverse is selected. So the same as my MK3 The issue is that when the front wipers are on automatic, the rear wiper comes on too. The rear screen stays quite dry, so the wiper screeches on the dry glass every time it wipes. The only way I can then switch it off is to either switch the front wipers off (not an option when raining!) or go into the infotainment and disable auto wipers and then use the front wipers manually. So manual delay, on or fast. Which seems ridiculous. Has anyone found the same problem, or better still found a solution?

Like you I had on my MK3 Elegance but do not have on my MK4 SEL. We didn't see it as an option either Generally speaking the MK4 is nicer, but in some ways I preferred my MK3. The 4 is a bit too clever....

Hi, In my 2014 Octavia once I had set the driving mode to ECO it would remain in that mode unless I physically changed it, or I plugged in my trailer electrics. At which point it would change to normal. However, in my new 71 plate Octavia each time I start the car the mode has reverted to normal. So, for instance I was going on a long motorway drive so switched to ECO, stopped for petrol just before joining motorway and it needed changing back to ECO upon restarting the engine. Seems ridiculous that it was not an issue in the 2014 car, but is in the 2021, especially when we are supposed to be being more green. Has anyone found a way of keeping the mode locked please? BTW the car is a 1.5TSI SEL

Thank you. Do you have to spec the full Matrix lights to get this feature now? In fairness, not a serious issue to not have it as old the last car it did have a habit of switching off at the most inopportune moments i.e. as you were going through a bend, because the lights were reflecting back off a sign

I have the SEL First Edition. I do not have the Full Matrix Headlights, but can you switch main beam to Auto with the standard LED's? The handbook suggest that you activate in Headlight settings, but I do not appear to have that option...? I will be a bit surprised if not an option as I had it on my 2014 Elegance spec Octavia, where it was simply a matter of pushing the LHS stalk and with the amount of sensors on the new car I would have thought it would be a standard feature? If someone could confirm whether I should have this function or not and if so, how I get it to work, I would be grateful!

Thanks gents. Looks like the put the switch to L rather than R may have cracked it? It is certainly now dipping the left mirror when putting into reverse although didn't seem to want to go back to normal when taken out of gear. Car is in company car parking space at moment and could only pop out for 2 minutes, so a more thorough test is required!

Hi, Just picked up my New Octavia hatch SEL First Edition at the weekend and very nice it is too. I had to wait and extra day as it needed a recall; apparently 7 software updates! My son (21) and I spent a lot of Saturday afternoon going through menu set up etc We have 2 issues: 1: (Documented on other threads). We are unable to change the measurements menu to MPH from KMH 2: Despite following the handbook we are unable to make the dipping mirrors in reverse function work. We have set the memory seat. We have then put the mirror switch to R, selected reverse. Manually dipped the mirrors. Taken out of reverse and the mirrors remain dipped. We have tried this with the reverse mirror switch in the menu in various configurations and nothing works. Has anyone managed to set this feature up correctly and if so how did you do it please?
