  1. Thanks for all the replys guys...had a look today and slave is plastic so might leave well enough alone 😁😁
  2. Hi booked my car in for a brake fluid change at my local dealer and asked the question. "Do you bleed the clutch as well seeing as they share the same fluid" they said "No we dont bleed the clutch as part of a fluid change". I found that strange would the old fluid in the clutch not contaminate the new fluid they have just replaced or have I got it all wrong just seems odd not to remove ALL old brake fluid 🤔
  3. Im thinking of doing this to my mk2 fabia the bushings are an advisory after an mot. Can i reuse the control arm mounting bolts or are they one use only, finding conflicting info on the tinternet.
  4. Hi Murdockman I found a set of rear pads and fitting kit on evilbay for £35 so I will be able to build up the brake shoes ready to straight on I have also heard that the hub nut should be replaced and some say no you can reuse the old one do you know if it is reusable. here is the link to the shoes I got https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/263022634526
  5. Hi Pete I have included a pic of a fabia mk2 axle can you mark where i should place the stands thank you
  6. Hi Murdockman I was'nt very clear I have a trolley jack and axle stands, but where to put the axle stands if the jack is lifting the car at the jacking point can I put the stands below the rear shock and springs
  7. Hi I`m trying to do my wife's rear brake shoes on her 2010 Fabia mk2 1.6 tdi, I have searched everywhere and cant find any info on where to place axle stands to get the rear of the car off the ground. Some sites say to place the stands on the rear jacking points, how can you do this if the jack is there lifting the car, I`m so confused and when looking under the car I can`t see any safe place to place the stands any help please with pics would be very much appreciated
  8. Its worse than I thought looks like they have bent the retainer tabs on the back of the headlight to try and hold the bulb in. why why🙄
  9. Will this hold the bulb in place or will I need a retainer clip too
  10. Hi I have came across a problem with the wifes headlight, the dipped bulb has gone on the drivers side and I went to change it only to find there is no plug or retaining clip. Looks like the last owner had trouble fitting the blub because of the diesel filter and rather than move it they butchered the black socket that the bulb plugs into. They have removed the plug so the blub is plugged onto the harness and just set into the projector lens. I have searched all morning to try and find a replacement plug with retainer to repair it but have had no luck, can anyone point me in the right direction as to where I could buy a plug to attach to the wiring harness for the headlight as at the moment its just flopping around and will fail Mot on beam pattern.
  11. Thanks for all the input might go with keith's idea of the cheap sensors but do i just connect to the reverse light wiring or do i need a 12v supply to the control box of the sensors as im not sure if the car is canbus wiring i have heard if it is i need a seperate 12v power supply for them to work
  12. I have searched and can`t seem to find the information I`m looking for. I have a skoda fabia mk2 2010 its the wifes car she wants me to fit reversing sensors to it do I need to remove the rear bumper to fit. I have heard that yes you do need to remove the bumper and no you don`t. Also how can I tell if the car has canbus system I have heard that if it does I will need to find a 12v power supply after ignition for them to work.🙂
  13. Hi wino had a good look on google and ebay the difference seems to be just the plug found it on ebay says its for awy/bmd 1.2 engines but plug might need adjustment. I have seen them on other sites too with no plug just bullet connectors , also on the autodoc web site it says its a universal sensor and is compatible with 1.2 awy and bmd engines so might just grab it anyway at that price
  14. Ahh is see the difference that one is part number 03D906265C and mine needs 03D906265 any idea what the difference would be
  15. Wow so many different sensors 🤦‍♂️lol
