  1. I think the lock is just mechanical and not electrically connected to the others, so if you unlock it just with turning the key in the lock it opens that lock only. If you send a remote signal to open, it goes through controlling unit which sends signal to every lock to open (subject to settings in maxidot).
  2. Hi everyone, I've got a gremlin living in my 2012 estate's rear wiper. Working ok for some time, then give up and working again in cycles. Don't think it's the rear door lock as the ambient light dims after closing the boot lid. I tried some tracking with VCDS and found an advanced measure value for wiper signal in central electrics. Default position shows 0.0 Single wipe shows 1.0 Interminent wiping shows 2.0 Slow continuous wiping shows 3.0 Fast continuous wiping shows 4.0 Activate front screenwash shows 5.0 Activate rear wiper shows 0.0 Activate rear screenwash shows 0.0 (not a wiper signal) Tried to perform an output test on rear wiper motor, but without any kind of response. Anyone with VCDS with functional rear wiper to look what command should show when the stalk is in position for Activate rear wiper? What could cause the problem? Thanks
  3. I can offer HEX2 VCDS in South East, Oxfordshire, OX27 by J10 on M40.
  4. More info on this topic. Fuse box swapped, the old one has sustained some water damage. The hardwire problem is persistent. Without the wire Engine ECU is not communicating, so i put it back for the time being and will try to find out whether the fuse is feeding the relay or the other way and then investigate further on wiring. Glow plugs seem to work now,
  5. The previous owner didn't have much clue, he was just having it serviced in one garage in Oxford. Maybe was them, maybe was even someone before, who knows. It's the same vag number part, same layout, with all fuses, relay and bridge on R2 position, so fingers crossed! I'll update here what the result is.
  6. Did a little bit of homework. The relay is not sealed, the plastic cover is broken and 50A fuse doesn't get current on the pin, hence the hardwire. I went through the other fuses, scrape the scale deposits off and it seems to be better already, Glow plug light was shining much longer and car started on first turn. I ordered different fuse box so hopefully after swap it's gonna be no hardwire and good starts only.
  7. Wino thanks I have the question badly worded, I mean what the relay in this slot does. 🙂
  8. I'll add one more question. Some boxes do have just a plain metal insert in the bottom relay position, like on mine. Seems to be an original vw part. Any idea what does it do?
  9. Pikpilot thanks for your ideas. I'm experiencing bad winter starts with persistent p0684 error - interminent signal from glow plug control module. I'll remove the fuse box and check for damage on the bottom side, I suppose there will be a hidden gremlin.
  10. Thank you, that corrosion might be a clue, I'll have a look at it. I remember when I pulled one of the 50 ones out it was a bit stuck with kind of scale deposit on the pins.
  11. Hi, when I opened fuse box in engine bay, I spotted this "feature". Hardwire connection between R1 (100) and F30 (Terminal X). Any Idea what might be giong on? (Can't get auto electrician appointmen sooner than late next week). Thanks
