Octavia 1.6tdi juddering. Speedo juddering
Guys, again thanks for replies - I replaced both front left and rear left wheel speed sensors and all seems fixed. Its only been a couple of short drives but no problems so far. I feel I quite tech savie and have formal training as a fast jet avionics tech. but it is so easy without having all the facts to go down a rabbit hole... FYI I spent a bit of time on part numbers... and here they are wheel sensor OEM GSF Hella part number FR WHT003856 HEL6PU 012 039-021 FL WHT003857 HEL6PU 012 039-011 RR WHT003858 HEL6PU 012 039-041 RL WHT003859 HEL6PU 012 039-031 anyway I know I could probably get parts online cheaper than GSF - but wanted to get the job done and they have a good returns policy. Thanks again for the help - PS ITS A T30 star drive for the wheel sensor bolts!

Octavia 1.6tdi juddering. Speedo juddering
Thanks for replies - Batery voltage and charging are good - getting over 14V charging at the battery. I agree It does seem weird to loose both speed sensors at same time - I reset and L/H front failed immediatly a short drive and L/H rear failed. So Im going to replace both and go from there.. Will update later

Octavia 1.6tdi juddering. Speedo juddering
Well a bit more info - I do have ABS warning on dashboard - but thought this unrelated. However, I noticed the problems seem to occur just after the anti-skid warning is displayed. So ignition on/start ABS warning, drive like 1-2 mins the anti-skid warning comes on and the hunting/speedo problems start. I know the speedo is some average of the wheel speed....so its really pointing to ABS problem - plugged in the Carista dongle and both front and rear L/H ABS sensors faulty.. could it be the system is trying to match wheel speeds hence the hunting behaviours...before deciding the abs sensor is faulty... anyway Im going to replace both sensors

Octavia 1.6tdi juddering. Speedo juddering
Just an update from a few mins ago - convinced its battery/alternator related. Sitting at idle and then switching lights on provokes minor engine hunting plus speedo starting to flicker plus some other strange behavious with the milage indicator - will take some voltage measurements tomorrow and keep you updated

Dodgy Spares - Avoid car spares direct
Company on ebay selling cheaps spares - which is fine - you get what you pay for. However, this company doesnt respond well to any warranty claims do best to avoid like the plague. The ebay reviews are possibly fake. Check out Trustpilot instead. https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.carsparesdirect.com or Yell. https://www.yell.com/biz/carspares-direct-london-8081423/ I have raised complaints with ebay and trading standards

Tailgate electrics all stopped - Octavia Mk2 2010 1.6tdi
just to let folks know it was the black plug inside the boot lid that carries the main brown earth wire - thanks to this diagram here that was really helpful. I suspect now the wiper motor was leaking fluid and this may have been running down the tube and got the connector wet. Quick squirt of contact cleaner and a re-seat of the plu and all electrics related to the boot working again. Well At least was - but looks now like my wiper motor packed up as its streaming fluid out of it...ive got one on order and will let folks know of the outcome

Tailgate electrics all stopped - Octavia Mk2 2010 1.6tdi
yeh as i said on previous post all the earths on LH side under carpet look good - There is a single earth coming down from the hatch - that is on the chassis on the c pillar (just behind the rear seats) with both pink and another plug/connector. Looking at wiring diagram the earth goes through a multiplug somewhere in the bootlid before it comes out of hatch down to earth on c pillar - I guess that might be point of failure. So im going to take the trim off bootlid tomorrow and see if anything obvious

Tailgate electrics all stopped - Octavia Mk2 2010 1.6tdi
just to be clear I have checked the earth connections on L/H side under carpet - I have 12v to the number plate lights - but earth seems to be open circuit between the boot light bulb holder and the earth point in boot

Tailgate electrics all stopped - Octavia Mk2 2010 1.6tdi
All, Looks like I have lost all things on the hatch lid, Wiper motor, rear screen heater, number plate lights, opening hatch only by remote - this sort of points to a common earth problem. Also stopped is the boot interior lights ( I have 12 v on both sides of the l/h bulb holder as i think expected - so this at least points to the switch in the lock gone?) Maybe the lock switch would stop the wiper motor from operating - but not stop the boot lights - maybe I have two issues... can anyone help?

VAG Code 07462
im suspecting DPF sensor as I used a snap-on mobis scanner yesterday - Ive got the part but no way to do the adaptation. I have a tech question on this if anybody can answer... I assume the the EMS is continually taking readings from the DPF vac sensor to calculate how full the dpf is.. and eventualy does a regen when it thinks it needs to,, I get that. I assume the adaptation required to calibrate the new sensor to the old reading of how full the dpf is....I get that. But if the sensor is going faulty the the EMS might store the wrong reading anyway and when you adapt the new sensor - then the EMS still has wrong reading of how full the dpf is....

VAG Code 07462
Hi All, new to forum. I have problem on 2010 Octavia 1.6 tdi. Car goes into limp mode with flashing light and code seems to be 07462 - im using a carista dongle. I cant find any info about this code. The fault does not seem to appeat when a. car is cold eg in first few miles. b. when car driven hard - only appears at low revs when car warm..
