  1. Well if you want to ensure you get sorted in one visit you can get the part yourself, and as long as it’s a genuine VAG part they will fit it for you on the first visit. if the actuator is stuck in the open position (or won’t stay pressed in) you can just cut the top off it so that the charge flap closes flush with the grill. The ‘lock’ function is a bit pointless anyway given the flap has a spring loaded hinge to close it. I found this meant no problems other than the ‘check charging port flap’ warning message keeping appearing when driving along.
  2. It sounds like there are a few failure modes then. Mine failed but there was no issue with starting the car, the only annoyance was that every few minutes the warning that the charge flap is open would appear with a notification ding. If it wasn’t for the warning keep appearing I probably wouldn’t have bothered getting it fixed as the flap still closed fine, just didn’t lock. if you’re being prevented from starting the car it sounds more like the socket is malfunctioning and thinking the cable is still connected?
  3. Hi, I did get it sorted, but in the end had the dealer fit it when the car was in for service. They charged for one hour labour, which seemed reasonable given the front bumper had to come off - not something I was going to attempt a diy job on! I had got the part itself for about €50 online.
  4. Hi, I’ve got this issue on my 2020 Superb iV, out of warranty. The actuator is dead and needs replacing. I bought the part, but am looking for a guide on how to change it out. I’ll found a guide for a Golf GTE, which seems to be installed much more simply than the superb, but wondering if anyone has seen a guide on how to change it out on the superb? many thanks in advance….
  5. Hi, I only got it sorted by registering for a new skoda connect account with a different email address. All working fine now. I ended up just trying the above myself as the dealer was no help.
  6. Thanks, I understand most of the features aren’t great, but I have a superb iV and am mainly looking to get the remote charging setup, which it should be useful for...
  7. Hi, did you ever get a resolution this this problem? I’m facing what seems like exactly the same problem and the dealer seems pretty uninterested in helping. Would be great to know if there are any other things I can try myself without insisting the dealer takes it in to get it sorted...many thanks
