  1. It cost about £70 plus labour. Roughly 1/2 to 45 minutes to do (very experienced mechanic) at home. Not sure of repercussions if not done apart from personal discomfort.
  2. I have had a resonating, rubbing, grating noise when turning left, even just the slightest touch off straight when driving. I asked my mechanic to check it out. He checked all the usual suspects from top to bottom. I saw this forum and this section and how the left gearbox mount (under the battery) being replaced cured it. My mechanic was sceptical to say the least, backed up by numerous skoda officianados disbelief. I took the plunge and bought a replacement, my mechanic swapped old for new and now, no noise at all.
