Have read a lot of useful and interesting threads on here so thanks for the discussions firstly.
I'm basically asking anyone out there who bought a used fabia vrs late on and is still driving it now for long term maintenance advice. I did tons of research on these before I bought it, in particular the 1st edition with the cave engine code. After reading all of the horror stories about oil consumption and DSGs etc it still wasnt enough to put me off so I test drive one really liked it and bought it. I got a 2011 vrs estate thats got 80k on it I've had the car now for 7 months and done just over 3k in it, straight away got it fully serviced and inspected at Midland vw. It's a really nice car and I'm loving it, now I've had it for a while and i feel a more comfortable to spend money on it. All my intention is with the car is just it keep it mostly stock and just look after it and service it super regularly. I check the oil all the time and I know these live on spark plugs and oil, is there anything that can be done to calm down the oil consumption in the long term? I've read about better oil spray jets and oil catch cans but ultimately looking for owners opinions. Would be very grateful for any feedback, thank you.
The car had PVC job done on it and a new throttle body done earlier in its life.
