  1. Cheers guys for all the info and advice. The car isn't perfect bodywork wise, a little bit of rust appearing and the alloys are looking horrible but again, nothing that's going to stop the car running at all. Even the guy who does my servicing says that it's been well looked after. Will have a look over the weekend. Cheers again.
  2. If i was to go down the private selling route, I would definitely advise what happened to it. Have all the paperwork to show it was repaired and structurally sound.
  3. Thanks daz. The car was repaired and apart from needing new break pads/discs at some point, still drives really well. It's mot'd until March 22 and has been serviced every year since I purchased it but we have just decided to lease a new car going forward. Cheers for the advice though, some things to think about.
  4. Not sure where to post this but looking for a bit of advice. My car was written off in January 2019 due to being uneconomical to repair after somebody drove into me. Anyway, to cut a long story short, axle checked, bodywork repaired, mot'd and taxed as usual but just over two years later, we have decided to lease a kamiq and want to get rid of my octavia which I have owned since new in August 2006. I have never sold on a car and with it being written off, I have no idea the best way to go about it and the fact I know its not worth much now, am I best going down the scrap route? Thanks for any advice.
  5. Indeed. My point was that Skoda and lease companies appear to have different information. Obviously you would think the manufacturer would have the correct info.
  6. I've been looking at leasing a car today and obviously been looking at Skoda cars including the Octavia. The optional lighting packs on all the lease websites I have looked at so far states this: Front LED reading lights Front and rear footwell illumination Illuminated door handles Illuminated vanity mirror LED ambient lighting in 10 colours including dashboard and front doors SKODA welcome logo
  7. In relation to skoda advertising this wrong, just WOW!!!
  8. My 1.6 Elegance was purchased new on August 20th 2006. It's done just over 100,000 miles, fully serviced but showing its age on the outside now.
  9. For sure Chris, Sadly, since reading all this yesterday, found the water in footwell issue mentioned elsewhere too. Still very interested in the Karoq but probably not the sport line. The sunroof isn't a must have for me.
  10. Was a member on here for quite a number of years (originally 2004) and still have a 2006 Octavia (from new) that is starting to show its age, even though mechanically, I've had only a few issues over the years. Anyway, to cut a long story short, was going to get a Sportline Karoq but reading all this has put me right off. This forum had been brilliant for so many years and despite the brilliant reviews, I'm just so glad I can still read real issues from owners that drive their cars regularly and have to deal with every day car issues. Many thanks.
