  1. I've just got off the phone with the service manager, the recall is in relation to the park position of the gearbox possibly not engaging properly when selected.
  2. Hi Ootohere, no letter or email received as it's not a mandatory/safety recall. My car is booked in for an air con service and the service manager told me there was a recall to carry out on the gearbox. I'll try and get hold of the service manager or have a look on ErWin over the weekend to see if there's a TPI with more information about it. Just wanted to see whether anyone else had had this recall carried out. Cheers
  3. Hello all, has anyone had this recall carried out recently, vehicle in question is a 2021 petrol DSG vRS? 'C - 37QV S-SW update of gearbox control unit: UPDATE GETRIEBESTEUERGERΓ„T' Can't find any information online or on any forums etc. Cheers
  4. Nice to see this thread is still going! I'm pleased to report that I'm 4 years into ownership and still very happy myself, although I've faced almost every documented issue with the cars software etc, it's all sorted now (apart from some ongoing issues with the key fob that will hopefully be replaced soon).
  5. https://www.carshades.co.uk/shades-skoda-octavia-estate-2019-full-rear-p-9186.html That's my car in the photos 😁
  6. Had mine 4 years and it has always done it. I put it down to being related to the auto hold, never really concerned me if I'm honest.
  7. I think this is spot on. I did a lot of looking into the subject of the fake engine eon the facelift model, as I was close to placing an order. Skoda UK confirmed that the facelift model does still have electronic engine noise, and it is clearly listed in the UK brochure as standard equipment. Recent review from EVO magazine says "To improve sound further, it even now comes with a sports exhaust system as standard, with synthetic speaker sound now less prominent” So I'd say Ultearunner is right, the soundaktor has gone, but the electronic engine sound is still present.
  8. It's putting me off an order now, as the neither confirm the UK is getting the upgraded sports exhaust system itself, and no dealers anywhere near me have one in stock to check. Good chance I'll be sticking with my current Mk4, at least I have been able to code out the rattle box on mine, but perhaps it's time for some new wheels and a remap 😁
  9. Skoda UK have confirmed the UK spec cars do indeed have the fake engine noise generator 😭
  10. Well, this is encouraging, and his name checks out on LinkedIn!
  11. Good to hear mate! Interesting about the sound actuator, I just replied on the other thread about the FL and the UK brochure specifically lists the "vRS electronic engine sound" as standard equipment πŸ€·πŸ½β€β™‚οΈ
  12. Hmm that's interesting, as it's listed in the UK brochure 😞 The gearbox temp was nice to have I thought, more valuable then the coolant temp with is always shown with the bars on the left of the dash, so that's a bit of a shame. Thanks for the response though πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘πŸΌ
  13. Hi Arturp, I've got a couple of questions if you don't mind. Firstly, what do you think of the soundaktor engine noise generator on the FL? On my MK4 I found it far too loud, and it actually caused an awful rattle from the dashboard until I turned it down using OBDEleven, but currently there is no support for the FL with it using SFD2 😞 Secondly, is there an option of the virtual dash to display the gearbox temperature like there is on the MK4? Cheers πŸ‘πŸΌ
  14. I wouldn't believe them if they told me the grass was green. I have had many bad experiences with them, but I'm hoping I can use their offer as some leverage with other dealers around me πŸ‘πŸΌ Be sure to share some pics of yours when you pick it up!
  15. They're giving out big deposit contributions, that coupled with the pretty big equity I have in my MK4 is what's temping me, monthly payments are coming out cheaper for the MK4 FL!
