  1. VAG Speedos haven't been linear for years. Every VAG i've had since a 2001 Polo GTi (followed by 2xMk1 Fabia vRSs, a Superb II, a Citigo, a Mk3 Fabia and this Mk4 Octy) They've all been physical dials previously and have usually change at the 80mph or 100mph mark though. The only image I have to hand is from the Superb I’ve just got rid of for the Octy…….
  2. I wasn't saying the fact it was a VAG wide issue excused the problems customers faced..... I was correcting your statement that "SKODA" had damaged customers trust by taking so long to remedy the issues when in fact it wasn't Skoda at all but VAG. In the same way it wasn't Cupra, Seat, VW or Audi taking too long to remedy the issues with the same Infotainment units in their vehicles around the world. There's a hell of a lot more models than just the Skoda Octavia around the world that have had their reputations damaged by the whole issue.
  3. Not a Skoda issue or a reason to be annoyed at them alone at all....... It's a VAG wide issue which has affected models across all the group's marques that use the same units and is why the CEO made a public apology. 😉
  4. One of the first vRSs i looked at the other month was a 21 plate with 30k miles..... The drivers scuff plate was pretty much totally gone. The state of the front of the car and the scuff plate made me think it had either done stupid miles and had been clocked or had been a company vehicle maybe in the construction industry or motorway mtce etc.... and the driver had been scraping their work boots in and out of the car. Maybe though it's a problem with certain age vehicles or with scuff plates from a particular supplier/source?
  5. I'll switch bluetooth and wifi off on the phone and connect it via the cable to see if it makes any difference.
  6. I have got a 2022 vRS and I assumed when it said cornering lights as standard it meant the old school fog lights that light up below 20mph when the indicator is on or when turning the wheel a lot... Also both coming on when in reverse. The only mention i can find of it in the settings in the car though is for "Dynamic Corning Lights" on/off which appear to work differently and with the matrix lights. I can't seem to find anything fully explaining what these new style dynamic cornering lights do and when they operate as they don't operate the same way as the old style ones did. Although i think they operate when going around sharp bends with the matrix LED lights switched on??? I've also not been able to ascertain if you enable the old style cornering lights via OBDEleven the new style dynamic cornering lights will still operate as they are designed to also?
  7. No I’ve not tried connecting via cable in the Octy as it just connected/connects wirelessly each time I get in the car. I’ve a feeling I’m going to have to set up up as new to get it to connect via the cable though. The apps in question are the two versions of the My Skoda app and the On The Way weather app
  8. Yep like I say it shows 3 less apps both on the HU screen in the Octy and in the CarPlay settings section for the Octy CarPlay connection on my phone.
  9. Ok so I have a question regarding Apple CarPlay that I can't seem to find an answer for anywhere online. We have two cars with CarPlay - Our 2019 Fabia (CarPlay via cable) and our 2022 Octavia vRS (CarPlay via wireless). The issue I have found is that when I connect my phone to the Fabia via the cable I get more apps showing than I do when connecting my phone to the Octy wirelessly (24 apps on the Fabia and 21 apps on the Octy). This is both on the HU screens in the cars and also when looking at the CarPlay settings for each car on the phone. Does anyone know why I'm not getting the same apps showing for both cars on the same phone? I would have thought if one was going to have fewer apps showing it might have been the Fabia with it being an older and lower in the range HU? Or is it as simple as Wireless CarPlay gives less compatibility of apps compared to wired CarPlay?
  10. It’s a January 2022 petrol DSG and just displays D in the bottom left hand corner of the digital cockpit as far as I’ve noticed never D1, D2 etc…..
  11. Sort of related to this thread but having picked up my vRS today I’m trying to work out how you get the engaged gear to be displayed on the digital dash? i just see a D in the bottom corner but no indication of what actual gear the car is in? Every other DSG I’ve driven has said D1, D2, D3 etc…… somewhere in the dashboard so is it available in one of the options somewhere and I’m missing it?
  12. They are all standard features on the Elegance.
