I believe it's all down to the global shortage of semiconductors, from what I've read car companies are having to go through orders and pick the ones that they have the parts available to build, rather than just building the orders as they receive them. So cars with more electrical components such as DSG, Canton, Reversing camera, are going to be pushed back as the components simply aren't available. It's not just Skoda experiencing these set backs it's the whole industry.

By any chance did you spec the Canton upgrade @Wonderloaf Trying to understand how @Aarond and I both have cars built waiting at the docks for transport to the UK when we ordered after yourself and some other that are still waiting? The common option with those that are facing huge build times seems to be the stereo upgrade?

They advised me to check back with them in 2-3 weeks because of the delays they're experiencing, but I'll most likely contact them again in a week/week and a half 👍🏼

I honestly wouldn't bother with your dealer @Wonderloaf, go straight to Skoda UK Customer Service Live Chat and just give them your order number, they will tell you exactly what stage your order is at 👍🏼 I don't see how the dealer can realistically give you a delivery date until the car is built and in the UK, I've hardly bothered with my dealer since I placed the order.

Yea I've been keeping an eye on the news regarding the semiconductor shortages, seems we ordered ours just in time! Speaking to a guy on the Octavia owners Facebook group yesterday who said he'd ordered last week and his dealer had advised him of a 12 week wait for a factory order, I told him to be prepared to wait a little longer 😂 Fingers crossed for ours getting over here sharpish 👍🏼

Thankyou mate I am definitely looking forward to it. I sold my Leon at the start of March and have been using father in law's old 2004 Suzuki Vitara diesel that's been jacked up and runs big off-road tyres which is fun 😂 It's gonna be quite refreshing to get back in to a decent car. I don't doubt you'll regret the Form entor either 👌🏼👌🏼

The general manager at my local dealership did say that if I were to order an estate now I wouldn't see it this side of Christmas. He is a bit of an idiot though 😂

Sorry to hear this pal, I have just been informed by Skoda UK that my car is at Emden, status 38 waiting for a ship to the UK, however they did say they are experiencing delays due to social distancing measures which is understandable. So odd that you didn't even get as far as a build date when we ordered around the same time.

Madness. So hard to understand why it should be any different for you than me isn't it? I can only think maybe it's the 4x4 option having an effect? To be honest I don't think I've seen anyone with a 4x4 yet. I will keep you updated 👍🏼👍🏼 I could have had one of two vRS estates in stock at my local dealership, but neither were the colour I wanted nor had the DCC option. So you can still do it that way, but spending this much money on a car I probably see as the last internal combustion engine I will buy, it's got to get exactly what I want 👍🏼

I didn't know gold plating was an option? 5 weeks to the UK is pretty standard for all the cars I've ever ordered. Thanks mate I'm definitely looking forward to it. That's quite a small number of tabs for me, how else am I supposed to remember things? 🤣

So I placed my order on the 14th Feb, and got this update yesterday from the dealership and double checked with Skoda UK. (Although when he estimates pick up first week of July, I'm assuming he means June given the 7 weeks qouted from the build week)

🤣🤣 No not at all, but I only do short journeys mostly to and from work which is only 2 miles away, all on 30mph limits. I had the older non ACT 1.4 before the ACT and actually found it to be better on fuel. Best average I ever got was 57mpg over about 23 miles, but that was mostly motorway and I tried my hardest, barley wen above 50mph and was drafting lorries most of the way 😂 The vRS is undoubtedly a poor choice for short urban commutes but I figure it's probably my last chance to own something reasonably sporty with a good old combustion engine, but still have room for the family and IKEA furniture

Whilst your order is status 10 (provisional build week) you can make changes, after that it goes to status 20 (confirmed build week) and you can't alter anything, but the time frames for these statuses are anybody's guess. And yea, changes you make may alter the build week

What seat cover do you have bud? I'm looking to get one for when I get my vRS and can't seem to find anything that looks decent on Amazon or eBay? Cheers

There are a couple of differences there, no Corrida Red for Germany and the UK doesn't get Candy White
